Get a cocktail before you get in the check-in line! It took forever to check in.

I have spent time at the Gold Nugget several times and enjoyed it every time. I can hardly wait to visit there again in warm weather to use the wonderful pool and hot tub area. The whole place is always so clean and just sparkles. And right outside the door is the Freemontstreet Experience. If you want to venture downtown the bus stop is directly across from the valet parking. What a great place, the Gold Nugget .

I'd quickly recommend the Golden Nugget to my friends, but not the online pricing specials. We upgraded for an additional $40.00 to one of the towers after being told that only a smoking room with two double beds was available. The hotel, itself is a wonderful look back at old Vegas; being smack in the middle of the Fremont Experience. The restaurants and entertainment were quintessential Vegas, complete with an Elvis tribute band in the lounge. The in-room literature bragged about its mattress; they were right! And, with that, you get your choice of pillows. With the bathroom's in-the-mirror TV screen, you can watch the morning news while showering. We only stayed the one night, having reservations at a resort just off the strip, but will book a longer stay the next time we're in Sin City.
