Bargain room rate more than compensated for by all the unexpected add-ons. LIke a $10 appetizer bowl of soup or brew-it-yourself coffee at only $4/cup. Getting hustled by the time share guy dressed like Golden Nugget staff on the way to the elevator was really annoying. But on the plus side, our room had a great view of the LV Strip, Golden Nugget had incredible aquariums and Fremont Street was totally cool.

  • Pretty good hotel.

My family and I just returned from Las Vegas, where we stayed at the Golden Nugget. There were many good things about the hotel, but some not so good things too. We loved the bed in our hotel room - it was a good firm bed. Having a Starbucks right by our floor elevator was great, because my whole family could get something from there. The casino was pretty good. The pool was nice; loved watching the Shark Tank in the middle. Cool to have music playing and such too. It was really nice to be able to walk out of Rush Tower and onto Freemont Street. Very cool place to be at night; bands, lights, dancers, etc. We got advice from various people to eat at the Main Street hotel, very close to the Golden Nugget. Great buffet there! We ate there a few different times. The hotel housekeeper we had on our floor, named Ana, was very nice. The not so good things were the fact that the bathtub in our hotel room was slanted in. That was not good for my Mom or I. It is also a hazard, someone could easily fall, etc. There were only a few restaurants in the actual hotel, one which did not open until night time, therefor making eating there a bit hard. Everything in the room cost money; the coffee, a bottle of Fiji water, semi-expensive room service, etc. Very few vending options and the vending area was far from our room.
