I was very much looking forward to staying at this "elegant" boutique hotel but wouldn't stay there again. The studio rooms are very small so I upgraded to a king size room which was still cramped. I was shocked to find several long black hairs on the pillows, in the bathroom sink and on the bathroom rug. There were actual holes worn in two of the thin towels and one hand towel. No luxurious, fluffy towels in sight. The curtains were worn also, and the handle that opens the drapes was attached to the rigging with a piece of wire. I discovered the wire when the handle fell on me. The Subarashee Yume pillow-top beds were very comfortable however. They offered me no complimentary coffee or newspaper in the morning and the High-speed Internet access and the health club cost extra. The indoor pool and whirlpool were in OK condition but didn't look as opulent as the photos on the Nikko Hotel website. There were nice touches in the decor and the room I stayed in but I attended workshops on the top floor and those boardrooms were old, paint is peeling and it felt sterile. I expected more from a hotel that bills itself as lavish. At the very least, they should replace the worn, old towels.
