Standard rooms are small, but comfortable. Beds are luxurious & flat screen TVs are very nice. Like Club Rrazz (entertainment) & bar on 1st floor. The interior decor (couches, lighting, vases, water lily pond, etc.) is very plush. I also like its proximity to restaurants, clubs, theatre & shopping. Health club/gym is adequate (I didn't swim or pay extra for a massage). Staff is friendly & secure (asked for my ID when I couldn't remember my room number; responded quickly to altercation in hallway another visit). The free copies of the Sunday Times are snatched up quickly, so don't hesitate!

I absolutely LOVE this hotel. The location is ideal to get anywhere you need to go in SF. The lobby was beautiful. The entire hotel was very clean. The staff was there to answer and assist to all of our needs. I recommended the hotel to a friend, and she stayed there a few months after my visit. She also fell in love with it. Great shopping and food in and around the hotel.

Wife and I arrived Friday over Valentine's Weekend 2011. Stayed on 10th Floor, king bed. Room was small but adequate (just like most even high end rooms in big cities). The room was perfectly clean and very well appointed, furnished. Predominance of Japanese and American clientele. The room service was expensive and poor quality. The bar, Rrazz off the lobby is comfortable with couches and nice fixtures. We were there on 3 nights and all nights had horrid service, even when there were fewer patrons than servers. And the hor de vors were on the lower side of average. Poorly trained staff. Fortunately, there are great places all around to eat/drink otherwise ( but go to the north toward Union Square--south on Mission is a bad area at night). Starbuck's attached at the lobby. Liquor store across the street to the north. Bart station a very walkable 2 short blocks away. Highly recommend breakfast about 5 blocks away at Cafe de la Pressa (right across the street from the "Chinatown Gate". Wife used the gym and it was pretty bad--little equipment, no TVs and small. You'll also be charged an additional $*er person per trip to use it. You'll also be nickeled and dimed for water in your room $* and internet at $*per night. All in all Nikko is a good value, just keep your expectations in check--it's an excellent 3 star hotel where the property is nice, but the service is poorly trained.
