This hotel is an excellent choice for tourists visiting DC, particularly families. It is within walking distance to the DC mall and the monuments, Smithsonian museums, Capital building and other sites that are there. Moreover, a metro station is under the hotel for convenient traveling to other locations. A shopping mall with many eating places is also under the hotel, as well as stores to purchase forgotten travel items. Our room was very large, with a kitchenette and table for eating, as well as two queen size beds and a sofa bed. So my family of six fit comfortably. The price was perhaps just a bit more than staying out in the suburbs but well worth the additional expense. I highly recommend this hotel, and have stayed there numerous times.

I thought the food was awesome, the pool was really nice and they kept the room of the pool really warm. The mid day snack was very good. The rooms were very nice and clean, and the in room coffee was very good and restocked nicely. This is an upscale very nice place to stay.

I stayed two nights at the L Enfant Plaza Hotel in Washington D.C. and was disappointed in the cost vs. value. First of all, it is almost impossible to find. I was driving a rental car, and we finally had to call the hotel, and ask how to get to their hotel. When I checked in, I mentioned it to the front desk that their place was really difficult to find, and they said, "oh yeah, everyone says that". Well, if that is true, then put some signs out..DUH. The parking fee was close to $45 dollars a day (can you say "ripoff"), and there were plenty of open spots, so it is not like parking was at a premium. The WiFi was $11.00 a day. When I mentioned this at the front desk a day later, they sniffed, "Well, it is Washington D.C. you know". No, just because you are in Washington D.C. it does not mean you get to rip off your guests. The restaurant was overpriced, and at the little pub, a nine dollar pub bill turned into close to fifteen when a "service charge" was added. So beware, service does not come free at this hotel. Every time you turn around, you are going to get dinged and ripped off.

I actually plan to stay here again in about one month. The room was a bargain, considering other D.C. hotels of this status. I think the current economy and the weather in the month of February figure into price reductions. The location is excellent not only for visiting the museums, but also connecting with the metro for business appointments or other destinations in Washington. The room was spacious and very clean, the bed comfortable, the shower excellent. There are no restaurants in the area, however, so plan a long walk, a taxi ride or a metro jaunt to your favorite D.C. dining. The hotel is beginning to show its age, as some others have noticed, so I expect some renovation is forthcoming.

I was pleasantly surprised with boththe rooms and the public space in the hotel, given that I was ablet o securea pretty good room rate during a week that seemed DC was all booked up. It's is pretty close to the Mall.
