With the mall just around the corner and access to the metro from the lobby, this hotel has a great location .The staff was 100% personable . I parked my car on the street by the hotel at no charge.Late supper in the pub and dinner in the restaurant were very good .The room was older and a few 'dings' were apparent , however; room size was adequate,and the bed was comfy with the promised down duvet and a heap of fluffy pillows for reading in bed. From the balcony,the Washington monument and Capitol could be seen.I'll stay there again.

When I first read the reviews about this Hotel, I was tempted to cancel. I am not quite sure what socioeconomic group the previous reviwers were in, but they must be used to caviar and private jet travel. The Hotel was definately a 4-start hotel and hinging on the level of a 5-start rating. I have stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels in my life and this one certainly ranks among the best. The furniture is older but very nice; it kind of give the hotel its old style atmosphere. The Metro lines are right beneath the hotel and very accesible; there is even an underground mall benath the hotel. The rooms were very elegant and the location to all the sights was excellent. I never write any reviews; however, I felt compelled to do so to counter all the negative reviews given this Hotel by the elite class of foks who did not get the champagne and cavier they expected. I would recomend this hotel to anyone who ask; we enjoyed our stay.

Hotel was nice and clean but they charge $10.95 per day for Internet access. That is unheard of in my experience these days. At most hotels this is complimentary or a nominal fee - and it is essential for business travelers. Found it quite frustrating to pay $300 per night and then get held up to access the Internet. No choice but to pay it but I won't be back.

Great Location. Walking distance of museums. Shopping mall underneath hotel has snack bars, restaurants and stores. Also Metro underneath hotel. 2 blocks from DC Circulator. American Grill, little pricey but it is Washington DC, served great meals with superior service. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Some maintenance going on, but knew this before arriving. Great view from balcony. Small balcony and no exhaust fan in bath were only small inconviences. Definitely stay there again.
