I woke up the morning after my one night stay with bumps on my upper body which I subsequently learned from my dermatologist were the result of bed bug bites. I understand that this is outside of the hotel's control. The problem was how I was treated when I reported the incident on the day after I checked out. I was connected with the security supervisor, who seemed very suspicious of my claim. Fair enough. Maybe they thought I was looking for something for free. However, I was told that I would be contacted after they looked into and never was. No apologies, no concern and I was the lucky recipient of irritated skin and a dermatologist bill I paid out of my own pocket. The least they could have done was deliver some decent customer service. Never again.

I stayed four nights while attending a conference at the Washington Convention Center. My room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff friendly and helpful. You only have to go one level down from the lobby to the Metro stop (right under the hotel), which serves 4 different routes, so the location was very convenient. I had one dinner in the restaurant, which was incredibly good, if a liittle pricey. I'll come back here any time I come to D.C.

I travel extensively. I do not complain. I have stayed at some very undesirable hotels around the world. But, I would not expecrt a hotel in the United States and in Washington DC to be this bad. I was familiar with this hotel's history, but I did not expect a hotel of this status to be in such a state of disrepair, poor maintenance and neglect. The value is not worth the stay...unless you can condone toilets and tubs that do not function, non-sound proofed rooms, less than minimal service, and uncleanliness for too much money.

Since we stayed at the Marriott for two days prior to our stay at L'Enfant, it was very hard to enjoy the extreme down grade. However, on a positive note, I payed over three times as much for the "Pennsilvania Ave" hotel...but it was nice. So, I might say the hotel was to be expected for the difference in price. But things I don't tolerate are dirty bathrooms. THis hotel has hair "yuck" on the floor and looked like it needed some major remodel/updating. We left our room early in the morning one day to return to our room an hour later with the door wide open, with no housekeeper in the room. Down the hall we found her. Glad nobody helped themselves to our stuff. Anyway, the location wasn't nearly as good as the Marriot and we has such a hard time finding it. But it did same us some money. Sure wouldn't stay again though.

Went to DC for a 4 day sight seeing adventure. Chose this location because the metro subway is "right there".... very convenient. Purchase a 15-$20 tickett and that should be enough to use it every day as well as get back to the airport. The hotel is fine, nothing real fancy, but we were toooo tired after running around all day anyway. Was disapointed the pool was closed,,, and no hot tub,,, but the location made up for the lack water activities. Everyone is VERY friendly at the hotel.
