Our premium size room was great but the view was not. We were on the 11th floor facing the Washington Monument and could only see about the top 1/4 of the building. This hotel is above a very nice food court and shopping area but closes very early each evening. The metro is located below the hotel which is convenient but I hope you have a very good sense of direction because there are no signs to direct you. My advice is to ask the locals where to go, it will save you a whole lot of walking. Overall its not a terrible place to stay, but it's also not as convenient as we thought.

L'Enfant Plaza is in walking distance to the National Mall. When I visited DC 4 & 6 years before I drove and parked at L'Enfant Plaza while I walked the mall. During this trip I decided to try the hotel. The service (maid, room service, front desk) was great. If you visit in the winter and it is too cold to walk it is a stop on the Metro line. This is the best hotel I have stayed in. In room internet was $11 a day but the hotel has 24 hour internet in the business center. It is quiet - secure... I was very pleased

This hotel is extremely well located: two blocks from The Mall, the metro station very close, the elevator in the hotel takes you to the Promenade (which offers a variety of reasonable priced food) and at the end of the Promenade is the metro station.

Hotel met my needs for a recent trip to DC. Close to the federal office I was attending for a meeting. Staff was friendly, courteous. TV's in room could use an update, and free internet would be nice. Overall, I was satisfied.

A real practical place just to sleep and shower and see DC

Located in the heart of tourist attraction; above major metro hub lines; 10 mins away by car from union station (12 dollars at time); few stops away from china town and about 18 mins from george town both for night life; another 10 mins to pentagon city for malls; can walk to captial, washington monument, lincoln, vietnam/korean, white house, so on.. that's how close... Cons: no real shops/convinent stores after 8pm; you pay through the roof for drinks at hotel, you have to go far for bars, DC has a quality of life where bars and beer selling is limited.; Room is no high class quality but again just to sleep and shower it's perfect enough, if you're out of town you're not gonna spend all day at hotel anyways; can be desolate location like nyc wall street on nights..; highly recommend for those who like to be "centralized" location to get to places.. if you have your own car, you are so so highly in better position.. if not, you still have the ability to use mass transit
