We had a very enjoyable vacation staying at the Waikiki Beach Merriott Hotel. The property is located right on the ""main strip"" and the hotel has wonderful ammenities. The rooms are large and have granite tops in the furniture and bathrooms, there is a large plasma TV's and a very nice balcony. The hotel is near the park and gives you the sence of not being crowded in a downtown, yet still being right there in downtown Waikiki. The shops and restaurants along ""the strip"" are all great! You can also rent a surfboard right on the beach and paddle-out at the Waikiki surf break. Although the food is expensive at the hotel, it does have nice restaurants. The breakfast buffett is good and had all the usual breakfast buffett selections. For dinner, DK's Steakhouse is nice (but can get expensive) and the food is very good. There are alot of other restaurants nearby that range in price from fast food to 5 star dining. So there are lots of choices for any budget. All in all, the hotel is clean and comfortable, the food is good and the service staff is nice, helpful and polite. The property location is excellent and would stay there again. The room was very clean. We didn't have much contact with the front desk because everything was fine with the room and we had no reason to contact them except to check in and check out. The room was very nice, it was clean and comfortable, very nice decor and had a beatiful view of the ocean. I would most definitely stay there agian. The only thing that I would have changed would be a kitchette in the room or at least a microwave. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

This is the third time I've stayed here. Since my last stay in the fall of 07 all the rooms have been redone and it is beautiful. The service/staff has always been wonderful, but until this hotel-wide spruce up, it was getting a bit ""tired"". Not anymore! Wonderful rooms that are larger then what you will find at other hotels in the area. It is a great location.
