My overall expereince with this hotel was great and the value was unbeatable compared to other places. The room seemed to be recently remondeled and was up to date with all nessecities. I felt like I paid much more than I actually did. The underground parking is a plus, but it'll cost you extra. I had a king size bed and it was extremely comfortable. You literally melt into the bed. The only awkward thing about the room was that the wall-mounted flatscreen TV was next to the bed instead of being in front of it, but that didn't really bother me. The purpose of my stay was to explore the San Diego area, and this hotel was right in between all the places I wanted to go to. I highly recommend this hotel and I will definitely stay there again when I'm in the area.

Never having been in San Diego before I wasn't sure which hotel to book. There are alot of hotels in that region. I wanted a centrally located hotel. Close to Quallcom stadium, downtown, beaches and airport. The Hilton in Mission Valley suited this idea very well. Not much of a view,(a freeway), but very easy access to all of the above mentioned areas. Aside from a snafu getting checked in, they sent me up to a room, that hadn't been cleaned yet. After fixing me up in another room I was fine. This seemed to be a bit older hotel to me but what do I know. The carpeting in the hallways and in my room looked old and worn. My closet door was off track and a light was out but one phone call got these minor things fixed immediately. My room had two telephones. One next to my bed on the night stand worked fine the other on the desk didn't work at all. I used my cell phone most of the time anyway. No big deal. I ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant most mornings before venturing out into the city. My breakfasts were always buffet style and had great variety of eggs, meats, cereals, fruits, etc. The wait staff was pleasant and helpful. As were all the employees I encountered during my weeks stay there throughout the hotel. The only thing I didn't appreciate was the $14.00 a day parking charge they weren't upfront about. My feeling is that this was just simply gouging, your guests should be able to park for free, especially when your lot was so empty. (Now I can see why.) All in all, I would stay there again, if I ever come back to visit the Holiday Bowl.
