We checked in during the week of the Pearl Harbor Celebration. The check-in lines were long but moved quickly. The resort/hotel is enormous, they have an ABC store on the premises and almost any other top level store you may want to shop. We were on the 28th floor with a partial view of the beach, the view of diamond was blocked by another hotel. The room was very clean and room service took great care. The only real complaint was that street level noise could be heard (delivery trucks, etc.) especially at night. The beach was nice and it was just a short walk to the saluki strip.

Beds were too soft - preference is for firmer bed for back support. Stayed in the Rainbow Tower. Rooms were recently renovated and they were tastefully redone. Room stewards were good at their jobs and left the rooms tidy and clean. One big disappointment with the Rainbow Tower was the elevator system. To get an elevator you select the desired floor in the lobby and wait for a designated elevator. Here is the problem: even though there are 5 elevators - only the designated one is providing service to you- the others sit idle. Other people going to different floors also get assigned the same elevator. By the time the elevator gets to the lobby ( it takes about 5mins or more) there are up to 10 or 12 people waiting to use the same elevator. We then have to cram into a small elevator to get to your floor. This problem becomes worse during the busy time of day and the wait time increases. Everyone using the elevators are always complaining about the wait times. This made going to and from your room a painful experience. The Hawaiian Hilton needs to address this problem. Other than that the Hawaiian Hilton Village was a great experience. It has its own beach frontage which is not crowded as the main beach in Waikiki. Location is great for those frequenting the Ala Moana mall, it is a pleasant 10 minutes stroll to and from the mall. Also, dining close by - Red Lobster, Outback, McDonalds and Subway (couple of minutes walk).

Felt that the staff was very rude and non helpful. Front desk was the worst. Charge extra for every little thing. Dining was way over priced for run-of-the-mill food. Live in Hawaii and spending the weekend with my daughters.

I have stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort several times now and see it as the best place along Waikiki to stay. It has the best location along the beach with unobstructed view rooms looking either towards Diamond Head or towards the marina, which are both spectacular. The resort has beautifully landscaped grounds with three swimming areas to enjoy in addition to the beach.
