We have had lunch at the HHV before, but this was our fist stay. The view alone was unbelievable as we were looking at Diamond Head. The room was so bright, clean and comfortable. The bathroom doors are awkward and there are no luggage stands, but all in all it was fabulous!! The housekeeper is so friendly and makes you feel like family right away. We watched the Super Bowl at the pool bar and despite the croud, the service from Pat was outstanding. We even got hot food. The only complaint was going to the lagoon pool and getting our towels, but then having to walk all the way to another pool to return the towels. The attendant should have told us that they will be closing within an hour and that they were sorry for any inconvenience. My husband went to the front desk and they could not be bothered, just said bring them to another pool. While we understood the need for towel cards, it made a bad impression on my husband. But, I realize that the size of the place (like 3000 rooms) you should expect some inconveniences. Overall, it is a fantastic place and I only wish that we could have stayed several nights. The shopping is wonderful within the village and the shuttle service they offer was excellent also!

We decided to splurge and give ourselves a wonderful corner room in the Rainbow Tower. It had two lanai's and the view from the 18th floor was wonderful. The service at the hotel and in the entire village was outstanding and there were many amenities within a short walk. We loved getting our breakfast at Starbuck's and having it out on the lanai. The valet service for our car and all of the bell men service was wonderful! IT was the most relaxing vacation we have had and we also loved the hustle and bustle of being among the many tourists in the Hawaiian village. Oh, and the new elevators are brilliant. Almost no waiting---you dial in your floor and an elevator is selected for you.

If you want to go for a vacation to Waikiki, there is no better hotel than the Hilton Hawaiian Village. While other Waikiki resorts have lost their beach to erosion, this resort not only has a full wide beach, but also an amazing lagoon. While other Waikiki resorts have a very nice pool (maybe even infinity-style), HHV has multiple free form pools (some with watersides). Comparisons like this abound. The Tropics Restaurant and Bar is not to be missed. Better view than Duke's and less of a crowd. My only complaints are: - currently wifi does not reach most rooms - restaurants in the Japanese Village are a little sub par (sushi had warm rice, very weird) The main factors that would keep you away are common in Waikiki. Prices are astronomical, crowds are everywhere (trouble getting chairs by the pool)
