Husband and I stayed here in May 2012 for four nights, Diamond Head tower. We received a room with two double beds, which is usually no big deal but the double beds here seem smaller than the double beds at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach. Bathroom was very small, but manageable. Bathroom did need a good scrub/treatment to remove mold/mildew. The room was pretty large and contained a fold away bed that we didn't need. The floor we stayed on was very quiet despite the room being next to the elevators. Balcony was a pretty good size, but no view which was no big deal (just go outside). One thing that helps to give this hotel a higher rating is that the grounds are beautiful and beach access is just perfect. It was never too crowded at the beach and the beach had a lovely view of Diamond Head. The lagoon is a nice place to relax if you have kids but don't want to hit the pool. We only ate at the deli place, which was nothing special (slow service, food pretty bland, go to Wailana Coffee house instead for breakfast). Restaurants are pretty pricey but there are plenty of other places to eat on Waikiki so that wasn't a big deal. I can't really speak to the staff service other than check-in and check-out. During this process they were friendly and quick. We arrived late at night due to a cancelled flight so the check-in process was very fast. We don't usually require a lot of hotel service so our experience with staff was pretty much the same as everywhere else we've been--perfectly fine. Overall good experience and would probably stay here again because of the beach access.

We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for ten days to celebrate our anniversary. Previously we did the same at the Hilton Waikaloa on the Big Island and absolutely loved it. I could not rate that hotel high enough. This one though was another matter. When we checked in we were told we were in a VIP client, best room they had available. Ok, best available is good. First, we were placed in the Diamond Head tower and were on the 9th floor. We were told no other rooms would be available during our stay. When we got in the room things started going down hill. The room we had ants in it. Also, my wife got bug bites for the first three nights (9 night stay) while sleeping. We don't know what was biting her. Next, every single night, they had live music at the Tapa Pool Bar until about 11:00 PM. This would be no problem if this bar were in a good location but it is in the exact center of the resort and any rooms with resort views were forced to listen to the music and noise from the crowd until 11:00 PM and sometimes later if people stuck around. Why they don't have an inside club area that protects customers who want to sleep from this music is beyond me. Also, why wouldn't they have this at a bar near the beach so people could party on the beach and the noise would not distarct those wanting to sleep. And who would go to this lame party when there are so many great clubs in Waikiki anyways? So, not sleeping good was part of the benefits of staying here. Ok, go to the Hilton Hawaiian Village website and read through it and you will find that there should be an adults only pool and an infinity pool on the facility. We were told those would be coming after they do their remodel but nobody could say when that would be. So, why would they be on the website when they don't even have it yet? Perhaps the breakfast will help? No, it's just as expensive or (usually# more than any other resort breakfast in Waikiki but with less variety. If you want a good breakfast go to Dukes breakfast buffet. This hotel is also farther from the Waikiki happenings then most Waikiki resorts as it has Fort Derussy next door before you start to get to the strip. I know, better for family's right? Not really. Waikiki strip is actually very tame and I have seen families out enjoying it until about 10:00 sometimes later. It's also very safe. Walking across that dark park to go to the stip, though it is usually safe, would worry me more than being on the strip. I just cannot think of any reason to recommend this resort to anybody going there on a vacation. Leave it to the businesses that have events there. There are far better choices for resorts in Waikiki and on Oahu. Oh, stopped by the new disney resort on the Island and if we ever go back to Oahu it will be to there or to a resort on the strip. It appears to be far better than this location if you want something that's not on the strip and the resorts on the strip are a far better choice then this one. WIFI was $25 a day, no free breakfast, not quite, Parking $25 a day #standard for an Oahu Resort).

My husband and I loved this hotel. Lots to do, easy access to beach. There was a coffe shop on the corner across the street that was convenient to walk to for breakfast and reasonably priced. We would stay there again. Great experience!

This was the best and most memorable stay in Hawai'i. We were upgraded to a corner room in the Rainbow Tower. We had the view of the city and Waikiki. You can hear the crash of the waves and feel the warmth of the sun. It was the most wonderful and relaxing stay ever!! The staff was very nice and the grounds were beautiful. I would definitely stay there again next time we go back to Hawai'i.
