This hotel is very centrally located in South lake Tahoe but away from the noise of the casinos and the skiing crowd. It is by the beach and walking on the beach in the early morning and evening is very relaxing. The room interior is very relaxing too. I am surprised that it even has a fully-equipped kitchenette that you don't have to go out to eat every day and every meal, However, the staff service has a lot to be desired. First, starting with checking in, they charge you $16/day for parking, which is not disclosed during booking/reservation. And you are stuck. The front desk staff does not give you much amenity information about the resort. You'll have to ask for the dining discount card from the concierge. After checking in, you want to park your car. There is no parking facility in the resort. The garage is not too far away and not close either. The hotel encourages you in many subtle ways to use the valet service, but that does not cater to our budget minds. Then, we asked for morning calls, but for two consecutive mornings, there were no calls into our room and we almost missed our appointment. I guess the staff were used to guests who never had to care for their time. Finally, at checking out, the two staff on duty were either chatting on the phone or handling other customers in a leisurely way that I had to wait more than 10 minutes before I was noticed.

We made a reservation in June for a room at this resort. Upon arrival in September we were told that that room had been "sold out" and we were downgraded to another room type. At no time between making the reservation and arrival were we told that the room type was sold out. We were basically told that we could complain but that it would not make any difference - we were stuck. Add to that the fact that wifi did not work as advertised (stand in the parking lot if you want cell phone coverage) and you are charged $16 per day to park your own car, and it made for a poor resort experience.

We have been going to this hotel for 13 years but this year was disappointing. The staff was overworked. We heard one worker complaining to the bartender that it was his 9th day of work in a row and he was exhausted. There were never towels near the pool area and when I asked them to restock towels the front desk told me in a grumpy manner that they would get to it eventually. We never got fresh towels in our room, nor did they replenish the coffee for the coffee maker. I requested a room near my family's room and they gave me a room clear across the hotel (3 hours later). The hotel seems poorly run...so disappointing. They are cutting corners and forgetting good customer service

The room itself was excellent however as soon as we came in the door we were hassled by a timeshare employee who wouldn't take no for an answer, seemed more like a used car salesman to me. The cost to park was 16 dollars for one day and it wasn't even covered parking. Needless to say when we finally did find an open parking spot there were two feet of fresh snow on my car the next morning, what a waste of money. The check in time isn't until 4pm which is late compared to most places. The check out time is even more rediculous at 10 am. The hotel staff told us we could simply call the front desk the next morning to get a late check out, but when we did they told us all the late checkouts were taken. We just wanted to celebrate my wife's birthday but this place turned out to be more of a hassle than anything. Wish we would have stayed at Harveys or Harrahs at least the parking is covered and free there. Not worth the money if you don't want to time share. Look elsewhere.

We had a 2 queen studio; it was a slightly upscale hotel room with a kitchenette. The one thing that was convenient was they supplied the dishes and amenities in the kitchen. The kitchen consisted of microwave and refrigerator that is a given in most hotel rooms. It was crowded and we were asked if we were "owners" constantly throughout our stay by the staff. We had a room that was the farthest from the elevator that you could get and had no view. When we mentioned that a balcony would have been nice, we were told âif you were an owner" you could get one. I know they are trying to sell time shares but I don't think I would attempt to stay at one again. The internet was not free unless you were an owner.
