We visited at a rather unusual time so some of my observations may be related to the season. The hotel is in a great location. Next to the subway and trains. The transportation system is excellent, comparitable to the "Tube" in London. The hotel's restaurant was not open for lunch and closed early in the evening. The lounge was only open for dinner, even on the weekends. Bathroom is small. The door barely passes the toilet. Rooms are clean but worn. If youre looking for a view from the hotel, it's not here. Hot water in the shower took 3-5 minutes to get to temperature (we were on the 11th floor). If you dont spend time in the hotel, this may be the place for you because of price and location.

First trip to Boston, July 09 ; loved it. Hotel walkable distance to/from all sights - for healthy individuals. The subways are short walks away also, but you shouldn't need them much. Hotel is nice, rooms are clean but a bit run down. Carpet could use steam clean. Staff friendly. Pool is bathwater warm. The hotel bar/restaurant is $$, a better option is the Italian restaurants across the street.

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn at Beacon Hill. The convenience of the location was exceptional and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The rooms were good and a little dated, but the staff makes the hotel - they remembered us, asked how our sight seeing was going and made our kids feel special. We found ourselves looking forward to getting back to the hotel to tell them about our day! The hotels is near 4 different T lines - so you don't need a car to get around - and is a short walk to Quincy Market, the Boston Common and Public Garden and near the Charles River. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to Boston.
