My husband and I have always stayed at Treasure Island. Last year we stayed and we had to move rooms one morning because the sewage backed up and the smell was horrific. We were not upgraded and nothing was taken off of our bill. It was very frustrating. But we like the location of T.I. and our friends wanted to stay there so we thought, ok one more try. Checking in was a nightmare, they had 4 people working and the line was at least 100 people deep. The smell with the sewage was evident not only in our room when the toliet flushed and the sink was running, but also at the pool. The smell would hit randomly. The other complaint that we have would be the dealers at the tables, they were rude, boring and had no personality. This is a service industry, people are on vacation and are looking for a good time. At least 90% of the dealers treated us that way.The entire table staff could use a refresher course on how to treat the guests!! The staff at the pool was terrific! They were friendly, attentive and always looking to make sure we were being cared for! The pool staff was the best part of the hotel.

We waited nearly 2 hours to check in. Even though there were about 12 computers available, only 3 people were at the counter checking guests in. We were then told, "unfortunately, Sunday is a bad day to check into Vegas," and didn't seem to understand the concept of preparing your staff for large arrivals. Then we were told there were no rooms available for us and we had to wait further. We were also told that they do not guarantee smoking/non-smoking rooms.. even though there are signs all over the hotel stating it is a "non-smoking" hotel and we specifically requested non-smoking. The room smelled like incense and the buffet was cold and pitiful. Gilly's was the only decent thing about the place.

My sister recommended us to stay in this hotel, so to our mistake, we listened to her without looking at the reviews. It's frankly one of the worst hotels we've been to. The hotel had a bad smell everywhere we went and it wasn't as clean as it should be. Also when we arrived, we havn't eaten for almost a full day, so we had a free lunch in a buffet and used it. The food was terrible, and that's bad for people who've been hungry for a long time. It honestly made me afraid of other Las Vegas food the whole trip so for dinner we always ate at Cheesecake Factory. There was also nothing to do in this hotel besides the shows that we didn't go to because they were too expensive (except that free show we went to which was entertaining to some level). However, what saved this hotel is the shops. This hotel had more stores than some other hotels and they were pretty good. Overall in our trip, we took the tram to the Mirage a lot and pretended that was our hotel.

We arrived due to a delay about 10 hours later than expected. So we only had about 36 hours to enjoy our stay. The extra fees were for services we could not use in the time frame we stayed, so we were a little frustrated in having to pay for something we could not use. The hotel was average for Vegas.
