We stayed here recently for our honeymoon. The MGM is a beautiful hotel/casino, and the largest on the Strip. By reading reviews/specs online, you don't really get a feel for just how big this place is. The pool was a good 20-25 minute walk from our hotel room, and when you get there, they don't even have all the pools open. They boast at the acreage of pools they have, yet there may only be one or two open when you go. Just something to think about. If you're unable to walk or don't want to, don't come here. We stayed in the Tower. The room was nice, but certainly not anything extravagant for the money you're paying to stay there. Tub/shower combo, but the marble floors and counters were a nice touch. Water temp was very touchy, it would be perfect one second and scald you the next. The walls also seemed to be very thin- you can hear your neighbors conversations as if you're in the room with them. Theres also a resort fee of $15 per day to use the internet, the cardio room, get a free newspaper, and print boarding passes. Assinine, if you ask me. Secondly, they don't have coffee pots in the rooms!!! If you want coffee, you either have to order a pot from room service which will set you back a good $18, or go to the Starbuck's in the hotel. Ridiculous. Overall, its a nice hotel but entirely too big. Next time I think we'll be staying in a smaller hotel with no resort fee.

Everyone from the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff was warm and welcoming. Staff at every level would say hello or ask if we needed help finding something. Which came as very helpful since it is a large hotel. Often, we would get lost trying to find our way out to the Vegas strip, but there was always someone to assist. I would most definitely recommend this location if you're looking for a place to crash at night.

We were assigned to the West Wing of the MGM. Little did we know that this was the "wrong side of the tracks." Even the staff acknowledged its poor quality. We opened the door and walked literally right into the bathroom. NO privacy at all. Enough vanity space to fit a toothbrush. Bed was too short and pillows were like bricks. Room barely large enough to accomodate the room service table. A very old TV and a few very small drawers underneath that. No view of anything. Buffet was very poor. Limited selection and barely edible. We stayed during the week, and the lazy river at the pool was closed on weekdays. On top of that they tried to charge $20.00/day resort fees! Nothing about this place was a resort experience. We did manage to get the resort fees dropped after pointing out all the shortfalls. This was my first experience at the MGM, and it was a definite disappointment. The staff however, was probably the friendliest that I have experienced in Vegas.
