We were a family of four with 2 older teenage kids. Room was large, but wish that it had two queen size beds as double beds are not quite wide enough. Location was great! - Only 15 minutes away from Reagan National Airport near metro and the Washington DC mall/attractions. We walked mostly everywhere. Food in resturant was good, but lots of other places to eat in DC. Only issue we had was with the shower temp control. When we told hotel staff, they immediately sent help up to adjust it. Staff was courteous and accomodating.

This mediocre hotel is only redeemed as a place to stay due to its location; you can?t beat two blocks from the center of the National Mall. That aside, the room just makes the ?okay? grade. On the other hand, when we first arrived, the bathroom was terrible - long black hair in the shower and floor. The service is also rather slow - called for extra pillows at 8:45 PM; I had to call again at 9:30PM to see if they were coming; they were finally delivered at 9:55PM. Pool staff very unfriendly. I?d only stay there again because of the location not because of the hotel itself or its staff.

We stayed at this hotel for our driving trip to Washiington DC. Good stuff: The only thing going for this hotel is it s location. It is close to the Mall and all the other attractions of Washington DC. That is all. Bad stuff: 1. This hotel is located right next to the main railway track. You can see it just below your window. Freight trains are moving all night and the commute trains starts early in the morning. Woke us all up several times a night somedays. The window and the wall will rumble everytime one goes by. 2. I was looking for a hotel that served breakfast (even if it is continental) so that we could get out to see the sights in the morning without having to spend a lot of time for breakfast. When I booked the room Holiday inn rep told me that the restaurant served buffet breakfast and kids eat free. When we got there we were told that the kid have to be 12 or under. Our boys are 13 and 14. They charge 18 dollars for a very very lousey buffet (oj and coffee extra ! ! !) It called Smithsons. There is a Mcdonald, that is located just around the corner of 4th and C. 3. When I booked the room, I told the rep that we were driving from California. She did not tell us that the hotle charged 25 dollars per day to park. Even when we checked in, the woman at the counter did not tell us.We were told to fill out the form and keep it on the dashboard. Even the parking lot attendant did not tell us that. We found out from the fina bill. Too late. 4. Rooms are too small for double beds

We stayed here for 6 nights. Great location, walking distance to most monuments and museums. Food was great at both Smithson's and 21st Amendment. It was great staying so close to things in the District. Simple 1 block walk to L'enfant Metro Stop. Staff were great, friendly, very helpful, and extremely pleasant. Highly recommend this hotel. You will be happy you stayed here!!

We arrived a bit early, and the first thing that impressed me was the suggestion that we could leave our bags, do some sightseeing, and check in later, that way we'd not get a room next to the train tracks. The first night we also had a message from the night manager just to make sure everything was to our liking. A nice touch. The location of this hotel is just great... a short walk to the mall, closest to the Native American and Air and Space museums. The kids (13 + 15) loved the rooftop pool. I was able to get a nice photo of the dome of the Capitol Building, with the flowers on the hotel roof in the foreground. A nice touch. One night 2 of us ate at the hotel bar, and the Chicken Panini sandwich was one of the tastiest meals I ever had. And the atmosphere was just great too. Very friendly staff all around. I would hightly reccomend this hotel to anyone I knew.
