Wondeful clean rooms, comfy beds and the concierge was the best. He helped my granddaughter and I book trips and tours of Washington D.C. Our dinner in Georgetown on the promonade was delightful. Taxi's are always available there as well as a Starbucks in the hotel and McDonalds down the street. I would highly recommend this hotel for comfort, convenience to the Capital and the museums of the city.

This was a family Spring Break trip & we were looking for a hotel that was convenient to the sites in DC, this hotel was PERFECT!! We took the Metrorail from the airport & were less than a block away from the hotel (sure beats the cost of a cab!) We were walking distance from just about everything, The Mall, The Capitol, The Museums, etc..The hotel was very clean, the staff was wonderful, the rooms were large. We traveled with two 7 year olds & everyone was very accomodating. We will definately be back!!

On a number of occasions during our 2 day stay the shower ran cold after a few minutes. But the best part was the freight trains that ran just outside my window very early every morning and when I complained at the front desk the clerk gave me a hard time. never again

The hotel was great for our travel party. We used two room, one for a senior couple and the other for two adults and two kids (8 & 5 years old). The Front Desk Staff was great and offered FREE meal coupons for the kids at the hotel's bistro. THe rooms were clean large and included an in-room refrif and free WiFi. In addition to the Bistro the hotel has a nice giftshop and a bar & grill. Also A Starbucks is located on the property with direct access from the Lobby. THe are is immediately adcant to the Air & Space Musem and several government office buildings (Education, FEMA & TRansportation), so after 5pm the area is dead with no real options for late night dining near the hotel. There is a McDonald's at the end of the block which our kids enjoyed. Most landmarks are within a short walk, we walked to the Ford's Theater and it was about 20 min and the White House is about the same or less. Grayline offers a SightSeeing Bus Tour that picks up across from the Air & Space Museum which is less than 5 min. walk from the hotel. We all liked the hotel and would consider when we return to DC.

I have stayed in the Holiday Inn Capitol twice now and have been very satisfied both times. It's extremely convenient to the museums on the mall and Metro stops. Has multiple eateries inside the hotel (including Starbucks) and two fast food places in the same city block. CVS Pharmacy located in the same city block too. Nice neighborhood, quiet area, although one of the front desk staff told me to ask for a room on the quiet side of the hotel because there is a train nearby. I think I ended up on the ""noisy"" side of the hotel because I could see the train tracks from my room, but it didn't bother me. All in all I highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again when I go back to DC.
