This is my favorite hotel to stay in when my goal is to visit the Smithsonian museums and the National Mall! Also, it is right around the corner from the L'Enfant Plaza Metro making it amazingly convenient to hop on and hop off to get anywhere else in the city. I love that it has a Starbucks for early morning coffee at one corner, a McDonalds for a late night snack at the other corner, and a CVS pharmacy in between for those accidentally forgotten items. I have eaten the breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant on occasion when I needed a good morning meal to last me all day and I've never been disappointed. You really can't go wrong with this Holiday Inn!

Great location for the price, Smithsonian is a block and half away, and fairly close to many landmarks. Staff is friendly, beds are clean and comfy but the carpet is quite dirty. (I'm one to take my shoes off upon entering the room.) Overall experience was good and will stay again.

The only negative thing I have to say about this hotel is the price of the buffet breakfast and the quality of food at it. It cost $* dollars for 4 of us.Two adults and two teenage girls who hardly ate a thing.Food was cold The hotel was close to the Smithsonian and within walking distance to some of the other sites. I would advise taking the trolley to Union Station or some of the other site farther away. The trolley is very informational also.Well worth the price.
