Overall my stay at this hotel was good/no complaints.
08/16/2011The thing i liked best about this hotel was the location. we walked to all the major sights and had easy access to the metro system which was excellent.

07/11/2011First of all, i was there 8 days and could not take advantage of the pool because it was full of kids screaming, splashing and throwing pool toys especially late ...
First of all, I was there 8 days and could not take advantage of the pool because it was full of kids screaming, splashing and throwing pool toys especially late afternoon until the pool closed at 10. As usual the pool picture which is taken in a way to make it look bigger was not, very small. I believe there should be an adult time say after 8 till closing. When I checked in I was not given the coupons for food, water etc. until I asked for them after talking to another guest. Otherwise it was nice.

Biggest complaint is that the majority of the staff (front desk, housekeeping, room service, gift shop, restaurant & bar) were not fluint in English. Also, we needed a grocery store or convenience store and no one (staff) that we asked knew where one was (language barrier ? or just plain rude ?). We managed to find the CVS & McDonald's on our own which is in the same block. Found it sad that we could buy a beer in the bar for $5.00 but could take 6 to the room for $18.00.

Stayed for a quick tour of DC. You can walk to All the Smithsonian Museums...etc. Bus tours leave from the front of Hotel. This Hotel is the most convienient you can find at this price point. Room was clean and about what I expected. Beds were ok, not bad but not the best. I like to stay at better quality Hotels and this was fine for the money. I ate in the restaurant, breakfast buffet was a good deal, dinner was average. This is a great choice for a family looking to tour DC without breaking the bank. I would stay here again! Front desk was very good...easy check in and check out. Early arrival was no problem. The AC was acting up a bit. When we left in the am we notified the fron desk, when we got back in the afternoon, it was fixed. Can't complain about that.

My wife and I were visiting DC with two of our teenagers on spring break. It was our first visit to DC. The best thing about this hotel was the location. It is only a block away from the Metro which is really easy to use to get aound town. We took two different tours of the sites and both picked us up at the hotel. We also felt very safe when we were there. There were several places to eat right around the hotel and there was a CVS pharmacy right around the corner that had about anything a travelling person could need. The cost was higher because of spring break and I will have to say that DC was really crowded while we were there, but I have never paid that much for a hotel anywhere, but I also could not find any other place near where we wanted to stay and all the prices I checked seemed really high. I rated the staff and service good because we really never used them. We never ate in the hotel and after walking around town everyday, we just came in and crashed. One of the reasons we picked this hotel besides location was it had a guest laundry. They had several washers and dryers that were really clean and ran great. This really helped us so we did not have to pack as many clothes. The rooms were plenty big enough for us and they were cleaned everyday with new towels, etc. The bed comfort was great but we were really glad to get off our feet after being out on the town so a rock may have been good. Holiday Inn Express has free breakfast and this Holiday Inn did not. It would have been nice to have breakfast for the price we paid. Overall, I would stay there again. The price would not keep me away because getting around was so easy from this hotel and everything in DC was higher than normal to me.
