Upon entering my hotel room, I took my shoes off and my feet got stuck to the carpet. The entire carpet was wet and sticky and the room smelled of mildew. The room smelled pretty clean, but the smell just was too powerful. The beds were not comfortable at all and the mattress probably haven't been changed in 20 years. I could feel the springs in my back. The hotel is nowhere near even being a 3 star hotel. I've stayed at motels that were better. I honesty thought I was going to get sick from having to smell the mildewy air for 3 nights there.

This hotel has a good safe location but is still close enough to all the action in the french quarter. The room was clean and comfortable and even had a balcony overlooking the courtyard. I would choose to stay at this hotel any time I wanted to be close to the french quarter. I was very impressed with the staff and their willingness to give directions and tell of all the drink specials each night.

hotel was a good value for the money. nothing spectacular, but no problems, either. our room was one of the smallest i've ever seen. pool area was quaint. no restaurant or bar, as both are supposedly under construction. however, clearly there is no work being done. location is PERFECT! would recommend.

Very Disappointed In This Hotel

My wife and I made our first trip to NOLA for a weekend getaway and made the mistake of staying in the French Quarter (FQ). Besides the Frat House atmosphere, the streets were filthy and had a very bad odor (especially on Bourbon Street). Overall, we had a fantastic trip to The Big Easy. The food, sights and sounds were fantatic. However, we definately would not stay at this hotel again for the simple fact that it has a terrible location. On Saturday night we only got about 45 minuts of sleep because of the chaos that ensued ALL evening.
My recommedation is to do your homework and stay downtown (i.e. Ritz Carlton, Loew's, Marriott, or Sheraton) or over in the Garden District. If you're 20-something and looking for a party, then this location is for you. Otherwise, you are better off outside of the FQ.
