I go to New Orleans all the time. This is by far the best you can do for your money. The location is great, the rooms are decent and most importantly the parking is perfect. 24 hour on site valet. A lot of hotels in the quater don't tell you that your vehicle is going to be parked at a near by tower. Here, its in a tower on the same property. I have stayed in "nicer" places before, but for me thats not all that important. Its clean and safe and afterall you wont be in the room but for a few hours anyway.

Just got home from our stay at Hotel St. Marie. We had booked our August stay back in January, a King bed with balcony. Upon check-in, we were told they were all sold out. Although I told them we had reserved a balcony room and that was what we expected, all they could do was say sorry....well - we weren't going to let it ruin our vacation, so, we didn't argue. We got to our room and were disappointed with the small size and that fact that the window didn't open, and there was no view. The room was clean, but smelled terribly of mold/mildew. Guess that's the product of the environment, since it is so very humid in New Orleans. The lobby of the hotel is pretty, they keep everything clean, the pool in the courtyard is small, but it was good for a refreshing dip during the hot afternoon. Free breakfast was nothing special, just some danish & croissants, but, it's free, so if you want a more lavish breakfast, go to one of the many breakfast buffets offered throughout the city. All in all, not a bad place for the money super saver August.

20 friends and I got together at Hotel St. Marie for our 25 year reunion the last weekend in July 2009. Our experience there was outstanding!!! The rooms were nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. They were always available to give directions or just to see if you were satisfied with our stay. The pool is small and can be noisy if there are children in it. If this is a problem ask for a room on one the top floors or one that faces the street. The elevator can be a timely wait if the hotel is full, so patients is a plus. Our group was able to walk a half a block and be on Bourbon Street. We parked our cars and for 3 days never used them. We were able to walk every where we wanted to go. The continental breakfast was lacking. Hoping that they open the bar by next year. It would have been nice to have an area on site to meet up with friends, have a drink and listen to some good local jazz. We would stay here again!
