This was my third trip to New Orleans, but my first time to stay in a hotel so close to Bourbon St. I was concerned about the possible noise but wanted the convenience of walking to various locations. I was pleasantly surprised at the initial appearance of the hotel upon arrival. We were a party of two couples and were accommodated by giving us rooms close together. The staff was professional courteous and efficient and we were checked in quickly. Our room faced the courtyard and was quiet comfortable and clean. The continental breakfast was perfect for grabbing a bite and coffee or juice to jump start your day. We traveled in October and in my opinion this is a great time to visit. There is always a party on Bourbon St. without the crowding of Mardi Gras. Lots to do - Lots to eat - lots of fun. I would most definitely stay at this hotel again.

I love New Orleans and Bourbon Street. This hotel offered a great location to the French Quarters. The staff was friendly and the court yard was very nice. I would stay there again.

Upon arrival on Sunday, January 30, my guest and I were treated as expected. When we entered the room it was neat, but I was amazed at how dirty the carpet was. I reported this to the front desk and was told it would be taken care of. I don't believe the room was vacummed once during our 4 day stay. I wasn't aware the rooms aren't serviced daily for a more than one night stay. Even though we requested daily service, the room nor the balcony were swept. The bathroom was clean each day. I also noticed a lot of dust on tables and light fixtures, especially near the elevators. The "continental breakfast" was not appealing to those who eat healthily. I would recommend deleting one of the high calorie baked goods with low calorie/low carb cereals. The fruit was appreciated, and the in-room coffee service was a life savor. Now for the good news. The Night Manager on Monday, who's name I don't remember, was most friendly and courteous. I highly recommend the service and attitude of desk managers Perry and Amy, and Donald, the concierge. They were so pleasant, helpful and really seemed to like their jobs. The location is great and I would definitely stay again if allowed to inspect room before I was charged for it. Having previously owned an inn, I trained and supervised my housekeeping staff frequently. While yours are courteous, they do need to do a better job. When I return to New Orleans in warmer weather I will definitely consider staying at the Hotel Ste. Marie.
