Construction occuring outside our room started at 4am and would cease at midnight. Not conducive to business travelers. Ceiling panel above the shower was falling down, gapping, paper was wadded up in the corner of it. For a recently renovated property, I didn't see anything that appeared renovated. Carpeting in hallway was really stretched out of shape and bunching. Safety concern potentially.

  • Flamingo is centrally located and busy with partiers

My sister and I stayed at the Flamingo for my 50th birthday getaway. I chose this property because of the raves about the pool and because it was centrally located. The price i paid was comparable to many others on the strip, but the pool was the clincher for us. When we arrived on Oct, 26, the slides to the pool were closed, and the entire pool was closed by our last day on the 29th. I had read on their website that they close their pool at the end of October so I was not too shocked, and the website also said we could go over to Paris and use their pool should a pool closure happen. The pool employees and the front reservation desk employees at Flamingo knew nothing of this being an option for us. I called Paris directly and found that we were welcome there and had no hassles. We went to Paris' pool our last day. It was quiet and relaxing, and the pool was clean and beautiful. There was tons of deck space, tons of lounge chairs, and they weren't all squished together like at the Flamingo. The pool at Flamingo was fine, but they had loud music blaring from 9 a.m. and people drinking heavily early in the day. If you didn't reserve a lounge chair by 10 a.m., too bad. Needless to say, we found the atmosphere at Paris' pool was a few steps up. We found ourselves spending most of our free time at Caesar's and Paris for the better environment, shopping, and great food/restaurants/buffets. Flamingo was fine, friendly, central, had great beds and was clean, but next time I go I will pay a little extra and avoid the less sophisticated crowd.

This was the 4th time staying at the Flamingo. Was in town for a convention. The room was clean and housekeeping friendly and helpful. We like the Flamingo because of the location in the middle of the strip. We arrived at 2:30pm and check-in wasn't until 4pm. Even though the room was ready, they wanted $25 to get in the room an hour and a half early. That is ridiculous! Are they not making enough money from our 3 night stay and the gambling money? Needless to say, we did not pay the extra money to check-in early which was an inconvenience after a long day of travel. After arriving in the room, we wanted to turn on the TV to relax for a while only to have the TV remote not working. It took them almost 2 hours to bring a new remote - can't change the channels on their TV's without the remote. On the last day, the hotel almost had a sewer type smell - glad we were leaving. Overall, the trip was good but I will be trying another hotel on my next visit.
