    I've heard and read many bad things about the Flamingo and was hesitant to stay but really enjoyed the place. For the price, it is in the perfect location on the strip. It is in the center of all the expensive casinos (Ceasar's, Bellagio) without the expensive price tag. We were upgraded to a suite at no charge which was an added bonus. All in all, it was clean, quiet (our room faced the pool; not the strip), and fun.

    I booked this hotel because of its central location. I could easily walk across to Caesar's Palace for a show and explore in either direction. The garden area was lovely. The room was very threadbare. The carpet was worn out and stained in many places. The windows overlooked the parking garage of local hotels. The bed was very uncomfortable. The only redeeming feature of the room was that it was large. Checking in was a nightmare with long lines on a Monday! They charge you extra for everything if you book an inexpensive room.

    Overall the stay was pretty good. The guy at check in tried to tell us the hotel was sold out mid week. I don't think so since Vegas rarely is in the middle of the summer unless there is a major event. Didn't realize it but we were placed in one of the old non-renovated rooms. The rooms haven't been upgraded since the late 80's I would imagine. Rooms were of a good size and a good view though. Great location and on the monorail line. Problem we had was the pool. Do not stay here unless you are trying to pick up people and want to get totally wasted at the pool. If you are older than 30 this may not be the place for you. The pool opens up at 9a.m. but if you show up at 9am there is not a single chair to be had. They allow one person to come in and hold as many chairs as they like. We just tossed towels aside and took a chair after waiting a few moments. There is good security at the pool to handle all the complete drunks by the afternoon hour.

    This was my 2nd trip to Las Vegas and my first time to the Flamingo. I was travelling with 3 other couples and we booked the room 3 months prior to our trip. Two of us called the night before we arrived to tell them of our late arrival, asked to be on the same floor, and to make sure we had king beds. When we arrived at hotel we were all on different floors, 2 double bed SMOKING rooms. These rooms were nasty and unclean! The next morning we were told that we could change rooms and that the new rooms would be available by 1:00. They weren't all ready until 4:30. These rooms were much better with the exception of the paper thin walls that allowed us to hear everything, including the ringing of a cell phone in the room next door. The staff at the front desk was NOT very accomodating and the staff at the Rewards desk were the most unfriendly! We were also disappointed that the pool closes at 6:00 p.m. Will not be making another trip to the Flamingo!

    Only problem we had with the room was that the AC was to cold and ya couldn't set it to the temp. you wanted to. Also the station for an I-Pod was missing and they couldn't get another one. The alarm clock would not work also. Other than that-The staff was very helpful with the information we wanted-like where to rent a Harley for the day and other things we needed to know.
