This is the second time my wife and I stayed at the Flamingo. We like the hotel and love the rates they offer considering we're hardly ever actually IN the room :) The few issues we have had with both stays is the smell of cigarette smoke, even though we had non-smoking rooms. My thought was that our room was on the same venting system as the casino, but who knows. The sheet had a hole in it this time around and we found hair in the bathroom sink. Beyond that, the staff was nice and the hotel earned the money we paid.

This is an older hotel and the rooms are not fancy. Clean, comfortable beds, but this particular room needed the carpet cleaned. No coffee pot for people who expect coffee when their eyes open (like my husband). But, once you get out of the room and go down to the main floor, there are restaurants and coffee shops right there. We got our coffee and went outside and sat at one of the tables overlooking the beautiful gardens with flamingos, ponds, waterfalls, palm trees, etc. It was beautiful and pleasant. Slot machines are a short walk away, and you are in a good location for visiting other casinos within walking distance. I would definitely consider staying there in the future.

Having stayed at the Flamingo years ago, I was sorely disappointed in the current state of the place. If you're going to stay here, go for the upgrade to the newly re-done rooms, the untouched ones are in a pitiful state. I lucked out with a fantastic maid; but those in my family also staying did not have their rooms cleaned during the entire trip. I don't know what's happened to the staff's pride in their work, but it has severely lapsed.

I especially enjoyed the Habitat, a peaceful, tropical garden with waterfalls, waterfowls and seating. Meals and food in general mediocre and excessively overpriced, even for the strip. But it's in the center of the strip.

Flamingo Hilton provides great value when you want to be on the strip and you have better things to spend your money on than a room. The room was clean and quiet, the beds comfortable, the air-conditioning perfect! The Casino itself provides all of the usual features. If you're a Jimmy Buffett fan, you'll love the non-stop Buffett music at the Margaritaville bar! I especially love the close proximity to Caesar's Palace, The Mirage, Treasure Island, Bellagio, Paris, and others, and also the walking distance to a shopping mall.
