After reading a bunch of very negative reviews, I was nervous about my stay at the Flamingo in March 2012. We had reserved a standard "deluxe" room not one of the new GO rooms. There was no line for the front desk and the staff was friendly and quick. Our room was nothing special, but it was clean and the bed was probably the most comfortable bed I've ever experienced at a hotel. I think maybe past reviewers had much higher standards for hotel rooms than we did. For its central location on the strip, the price really couldn't be beat. The only problem we had was that one of the nights we wanted to stay in and watch a movie, but the Menu didn't work on our TV. After 4 hours and two phone calls we realized no one was ever coming to fix it. We just watched TV instead. Regardless, we'll probably stay here again.

Flamingo has a great location for the price. The casino is older but is in the process of updating certain areas. Being part of the Harra's group is a plus , offering discounts if your are a Rapid Rewards member at more than 5 casino locations. A BIG plus when you're on a budget. We would stay there again!

I highly recommend the upgraded room with a view. Being able to see a good portion of the strip including the Bellagio fountains all while enjoying a brand new bed/shower/carpet etc leaves very little to complain about. My one complaint is the privacy screening on the windows. I get that its probably to help prevent the rooms from overheating when the sun is blaring (and possibly to give more protection from searching binoculars) but it ends up hurting your eyes if you're trying to look out the window. All in all though, great place to stay and very central to the action and sites. P.S. Try the Cuban sandwich and nachos at Margaritaville
