Starting at check in we couldn't have felt more welcome our whole stay. The front desk was extremely friendly and accommodating, the bartenders were like old friends, and all the rest of the staff made us feel like it was truly a pleasure to have us as their guests. It's a great modern hotel in a very convenient location and we will certainly stay here again. There wasn't a single thing we didn't like about this great property.

I booked two rooms at the Parc 55 for my wife and I and another couple with whom we were traveling. Upon arrival, we discovered that despite having paid the rate for two rooms, they had only reserved one room. At a normal hotel, this would not have been a problem. They would have likely upgraded us to a better room for our trouble and everything would have been taken care of in five minutes and limited hassle. Not at Parc 55! We waited in the lobby for over an hour and had to repeatedly ask the staff the status of the second room, only to be brushed aside a half-dozen times. Finally, after the frustrating wait, the second room was made available - and it was awful. The air conditioners were right outside our friends' window and buzzed incessantly. The hotel was in an area of San Francisco with which I was not as familiar (I'd stayed elsewhere in previous visits). I know that San Francisco has a rather "eclectic" population roaming the streets at various hours. Before this stay, I hadn't really felt as though they were dangerous. I should mention that this was my first time staying in this particular area - Union Square seems much nicer. Despite the modern decor and overall comfortable room (well, ours was, I wouldn't say the same about our friends' accommodations), the awful check-in and unfriendly atmosphere ruined it for us. I'd steer clear despite the good deals available.

After staying at the Old Parc 55 back in the spring of 2005, my wife and I loved it so much that when we returned to SFO in Dec. of 2009 staying at the Parc was a no brainer. We were wrong. To us aesthetics is a lot of why we stay at certain hotels. This used to be a classic hotel in the NY style with warm decor, tasteful color, wood furnishings, brass accents, etc. Now it has been remodeled to the hip crowd in neutral/earth tones with cheap scandanavian style furniture etc. they even removed the stately lion that overlooked the lobby area. I would say that the crowd was even younger (20-30) than I remember from our first visit. If you like this style of hotel, then by all means, you will like it. For instance, My wife who is a stickler on water pressure said it was great. The service was fine; But as I stated before, the hotel just seemed cheap in it's makeover, when it didn't need one in the first place. This is not a hotel for adults. It's for hipsters...

We spent several nights at the Parc 55 in San Francisco. We had a worry free visit - which doesn't always happen! The Concierge staff was outstanding. Every recommendation was spot-on, and the reservations they made for us were always taken care of professionally. The location was good for almost everything we wanted to do - close to transportation, shopping, and good food. We would definitely return!

This hotel was a perfect location-- close to great restaurants and entertainment. The BART and the trolley were very nearby. The restaurant was great, too! We could not have been happier with our accomodations.
