The hotel is very aesthetically pleasing, but I had problems with service during my entire stay. The wireless internet did not work and was never resolved, despite the fact that I spent over an hour on the phone with tech support. Friends in the hotel also were not able to access, so I know it was not my devices (neither ipad nor iphone). Room service was 30+ minutes late and brought the wrong order. I had a drippy faucet that was never fixed. The walls were so thin that my neighbors woke me up twice with their "activities." And by the time I checked there was nearly $100 of charges that were not for my room.

W New Orleans at Poydras is a fabolous hotel. They have an excellent staff that took care of my every need. The rooms are spacious and very inviting. The beds offer the best sleep (so much so that i ordered the bedding from the hotel for my home). I would highly reccomend this hotel for your stay in the Big Easy.

Do not stay at the W on Poydras if you have children. The rooms are small, old, and the walls are very thin. If you are in your early 20s and like to party, then I would recommend it.
