Marriott stays have rarely disappointed me (see below) and this was no exception. The Marquis is in an excellent location with many restaurants within a walking distant. The only sticking point with this (and many other high-end chains) is that despite the relatively high price, Internet service in not included...in fact, it is outrageously priced. As is often the case, service was available free of charge in the lobby. Chains charging for what is now a routine and mundane service, while charging a high room rate (i.e., nickel and diming guests) are simply diluting their brands, as the airlines have for nearly a decade now.

Loved the hotel! We didn't want to leave. The staff was very friendly an the bed sooo comfortable. The rooms are really pretty and the price wasn't that bad for what we got. Totally recommend it

The Concierge service was outstanding. They were very helpful. The price of valet parking at the hotel was a shocker to me, $60 a day. But I later found out that parking in San Francisco was pricy everywhere, if you wanted to park close to an attraction.

I loved the location of the hotel close to the bart off of powell, we arrived at 10am and they were accomadate us with a room, but even if they didnt have a room they can store your luggage, while you begin to explore the city. Our room was on the 15th floor and we had a nice view of the back of the hotel which was a small park and church. The TV was in a wierd spot and we had to turn our heads awkarwdly but that didnt bug us, we werent there for the tv. I dont know if it was the alcohol after a night of bar hopping but the beds were super comfy, best sleep that weekened we went. They have a starbucks downstairs and it is super convinent to get a cup of joe before exploring. I did notice that a convention going so it was a little busy in the lobby.

From our checkin with Malte at the front desk, to the nice chocolate cake sent up to our room for my birthday, everything was great! We were upgraded to free internet for the 3 nights we stayed, and also moved to a higher floor, as the room booked for us wsa not quite ready when we checked in. All of the staff we interacted with were great, and the service was good. A casual mention to the restaurant manager at breakfast, that we were in town to celebrate my birthday precipited a suprise later that day when we returned to our room to find a nice card and large piece of chocolate cake on the dresser! We will be staying there again!
