We spent three nights, one when we arrived in Boston via Amtrak and two nights after a week at the cape. Our room the first night was small but otherwise very comfortable. We had a larger room the other two nights although both bathrooms were small - but we loved the character of the rooms so didn't mind. We were traveling with our six year old son and felt welcomed. He especially appreciated the Ben & Jerry's ice cream store around the corner. We loved that the hotel was near to Boston Common and the public gardens. Also a bonus was the proximity to South Station. We would stay again.

This hotel was gorgeous and was in a prime location. There were many restaurant options within 2 blocks of the hotel and shops not much farther. I would recommend it to anyone going to Boston for their first time. Could have had free wireless though!!

The hotel itself is beautiful. Since it's old, you sacrifice some of the luxuries that come with a newer floorplan, like spacious bathrooms. There was also no free wifi, which was too bad. Otherwise, my stay was lovely, until I checked out, when I realized I had almost 100 bug bites all over. Am pretty sure it was bed bug bites. A few other people have complained of this online from this hotel. I don't blame the hotel, since the linens looked very fresh and clean. They can't help what a guest might bring in. And I'm guessing that my room was one of the few rooms with this problem. I'd still recommend it and probably still go back, except for the lack of internet. Oh and also, it wasn't a problem, but the walls are very thin and you can hear everything that goes on in the hallway and in the rooms next to you.
