Although the hotel is dated, it is definitely clean and comfortable. From the moment that I arrived, the reservation person greeted me cordially and set me up quickly with a room although I was early. The other staff were accomodating and eager to help in any way. The hotel is close to everything....within blocks of St. Pat's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, Times Square and many other attractions. I did not have to take public transportation or taxis because of the excitement of experiencing New York at its finest while on foot. I highly recommend this hotel and I will stay here on my next visit.

This hotel is in a great location to many of the most popular sites in NYC (there is a subway station right out the door and around the corner). The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable! We would definitely stay at this hotel again. This was a perfect hotel for my daughter's first trip to NYC!

Good location, small rooms...what I would expect out of NYC hotel. My girlfriend and I stayed Friday-Monday, walked to Times Square/Central Park etc. Noisy at night but it is the city that never sleeps. Arrived around 9am Friday, left our bags ($2 to store them at the hotel and $2 to pick them up), and left a cell number which they called around noon to inform us our room was ready. Researched a few other hotels and was pleased with what we got for our money at the DoubleTree.

12/21/2011Rooms were very small, i guess normal for nyc. otherwise, very friendly staff from concierge, bell staff, doorman, bar/waitstaff, front desk, housekeeping. very nice time.

This is an amazing hotel. I traveled with a friend for our first visit to "The Big Apple." We were nervous and excited. The staff at this hotel was friendly from the moment we walked in. As "tourists," we were loaded with questions from "Where IS this place?" to "How do I get here?" Each time we approached the ladies at the concierge, we were greeted with smiles and ALL questions were answered. One of the ladies even TAUGHT us how to use the subway system to save money. The whole experience was positive. Thank you!
