I was worried that we'd be a little out-of-the-way for typical tourist stuff, put fears were misplaced. Situated about ten blocks south and three blocks east of the park . . . an easy walk. Right on a subway stop. Room was nice. I'd definitely stay at the Doubletree again.

Outstanding, Stellar, Excellent - there aren't enough superlatives to describe our experience at the Doubletree. I have stayed in more expensive hotels in Manhattan, but they were outshone by the staff and service at the Doubletree Metropolitan. Everyone (and I literally mean everyone) was courteous, friendly, and very accomodating, especially the doormen and housekeeping. The hotel and hotel room were both very clean, and requests for service were answered very promptly. The room itself was very quiet and comfortable. Loved the extra pillows provided. While the location is excellent, within easy walking distance of many of Manhattan's attractions, it is the superior customer service that will have me booking my next stay in Manhattan at the Doubletree.

The hotel was convenient but the front desk was rude. The dining staff was very friendly ad security was awesome. Be careful they charge for everything and want tips. Action is not taken even when you call the care line. If you happen to book and get a great deal the front desk suggests you should not complain because you got such a good deal. I still have not gotten a call from management that I asked for and I visited in the last week of July 2009.

We stayed at this hotel early August 2009. The hotel staff was friendly, though check in was kinda crazy. Only two girls checking about 6-7 groups in. We did however get our chocolate chip cookies. The room was clean but was not well maintained. The bathroom was where we found the biggest problems. First and foremost the the toilet is WAY to high off the ground. So high it was actually uncomfortable to sit on. I'm not a short person either, about 5'7, and my feet were dangling... If you've never sat on an uncomfortable toilet seat count yourself lucky. The toilet bowl flusher had a big chunk taken out of it and the hair dryer provided got way too hot way too fast. They don't provide their guest with coffee makers nor do they have mini bars in the standard queen rooms. If you're looking to hang up a long dress you'll have to hang it on the back of the door. The closet is oddly short. The bed was comfortable and we were very happy with the air conditioning available to us. The location is also great. You're within walking distance to just about everything and thank god there is a little coffee place right next door! One neat thing was on Sunday they shut down Lexington ave and have a huge street long flea market. Really cool to walk out and discover tons of venders right there.

Great NYC hotel, near major sites, midtown, and subway ride from anywhere. The service is wonderful, very secure, staff is very very friendly and customer oriented. The rooms are nice size 'for a Manhattan hotel'. Nothing but good things to say. Well, maybe we need a coffee pot in the room, but other than that, wonderful.
