The hotel was very clean, concierge was very helpful, front desk upgraded us to King size bed at no extra cost when checking in, and great location for seeing the city. Our only complaint was that a fire station is located next door so every night a truck would come out loud and clear with its sirens. We were on the third floor and it could be heard like the windows were down. Not sure if it would be better on a higher floor or not. However this was my first time to New York so maybe it is like this in any hotel.

  • Very Fine Hotel

The hotel was very nice for the price being that New York is so expensive you cant get much for $* a night right after christmas.and the location was perfect! walking distance from Rockefeller center. the staff was great,my plane was early so i went to check the bags in around 930 even though check in wasnt until 3 they were able to give me a room right away; although it was a low floor i was tired from the flight so it was perfect. the only negatives were small things. being that it is a old hotel but renovated the ac sucks it would not get cold at all. i would hate to be there in the summer and when you turned on the sink in the bathroom it would fly all over yourself and the counter so dont put anything important on it. if you have to leave your bags at the front because of the check in times it costs $* a bag to drop it off at $* to pick them up and they dont watch the bags very well. we were able to just walk in and pick our bags up cus no one was there and its right next to a fire station and police station so if your on the "even number" side prepare to hear sirens ALOT. the worst part was the fact that you had to pay $* for 24 hours of internet in your room and i couldnt get the wireless in the lobby to work on my laptop.OVERALL the room was nice beds were EXTREMELY comfortable (slept till 12 the first day and didnt realize) but its definetly not perfect

The room had nothing great to offer , bedding was not the greatest, and requested another comforter and received a bath blanket. The same wrappers that were on the bathroom floor upon arrival remained after day 3 , so i finally cleaned them up , since housekeeping was not going to. Other than that , the location was great , the lobby was beautiful ,and the service was good. i would recommend this hotel for the traveler who is going out to see the city, or just as a place to sleep , if you are looking for a hotel with a nice lounge or a place to have a quiet drink go some place else.
