Stuck in LA for two extra days over Labor Day without much of a budget (in other words, out of my own pocket), I switched to this property for Sunday and Monday. It has not aged gracefully. The three main amenities were a pool, free Wi-Fi, and a 24 hour Denny's. All three exceded my expectations. I believe that the property was originally a ""motor court"" style motel, two stories built around a central courtyard. Unfortunately, everything else was worn and dingy, including my room ,carpet, linens. The worst was the shower - so small I had to step out to turn around. The hot water was not even tepid and pressure was low. The tiles and sink were worn and discolored. The staff, while not rude, were definately disinterested. The only exception to this was the woman working the toasters at the continental breakfast, who greeted everybody with a cheerful good morning. But what the hey- it was oinly $* per night including taxes, and 5 minutes to the LAX terminals. The Ritz, it's not.

I stayed here twice as a stop-over in LA while traveling out of the country. But if I were to stay a few days in LA I would stop here again. The rooms are big, comfortable, clean. It reminds me of Mexico with all the flowers in clay pots and the garden beds. You can sit on benches in the garden, or around the pool. It is very comfortable and relaxing. I did not have time to use the pool or exercise room. The hotel has laundry facilities available for use. They have free pickup from the airport, but you have to wait for the regular van which runs every hour - not as frequent as other hotel vans.

For our needs this hotel was great. Two adults and two kids needing to get up the next morning for a connecting flight. Great pool allowed the kids to play. Denny's on site and restaurant that delivers was handy. Would not go walking around the neighborhood but no need to. Free shuttle was prompt and easy to call for from airport and use the next morning. Free breakfast was hot and fast. Rooms were clean and no frills. A lovely garden area who's only problem was rude guests who do not clean up after their pets. For the money, location and our purpose, it was a great hotel.

Booked due to proximity to airport, free shuttle and Denny's next door. The shuttle service runs scheduled on the hour until 10pm-when I called for pickup the front desk said shuttle had just left airport-we had landed & retrieved baggage at 1710-waited until 1820 for shuttle to re-appear. Next time we'll take a taxi . . . Room smelled funny, stale. But ok again to make sure we didn't miss our cruise ship the next day. However, expectations were low as an "overnighter" and was ok for that. Would NOT stay here for a vacation stay. Room was non-smoking with 2 beds as booked; but 2 people sitting on the foot of the bed made the head of the bed rise!! Staff was friendly enough, but I would have liked to have the shuttle returned for us to the airport, as it is only a couple of miles away instead of waiting over 1 hour for return trip.

The facilities are a little old, but has that of Los Angeles city flavor. It looks like a convert from old apartment buildings. The facility is a little old as well. The card reader at the gate to the parking area needs you to get out of the car in order to swap your card. Parking is free. It looks like parking space could be limited for busy days, but alright at the night of my stay. It seems to be the best priced hotel around the airport if you just need a place to sleep.
