Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. The front desk was able to accommodate us into a room with two double beds, as per requested on our reservation and we were impressed with our room and its view of Times Square. It was clean, updated and comfortable. Only problem we had encountered was with security. We arrived back to our room one afternoon to discover housekeeping had left our room open. A little scary for women traveling alone, but discovered nothing was missing and it appeared as if no one else had been into our room. I notified management and was promised that they would look into it.

This hotel was absolutely amazing. From the time we checked in we received apples #40for the Big Apple#41 until we checked out we had such a great experience. The doorman Amos always had the best suggestions of places to eat and was very helpful in getting us taxis. Literally steps away from Times Square and directly across the street is a great market where we got fresh fruit for breakfast each day. Right behind the hotel you can get tickets for the doubledecker bus tours which was very convenient. The rooms were spacious and had VERY comfortable beds. Had a beautiful view of the city as well. The bathrooms were in excellent condition and very up to date. I felt very safe in the hotel as the main lobby was located on the 2nd floor. Overall my first trip to New York was amazing and Im so grateful we had such a wonderful hotel.

I just stayed at the Renaissance Times Square for four nights. I was hesistant because of the location #40the building is the northern counterpart to the Times Building where the ball drops on New Years Eve#41 thinking it would be noisy and would cater to tourists with low standards. I was impressed. The room was large and clean and not noisy. Hot water was plentiful and the elevators were quick.

June 23, 2009 - The Renaissance was convenient to everything - we had short walks to our Broadway shows, restaurants in Times Square as well as Hell's Kitchen, and we easily took the subway up to Yankee Stadium. The hotel was pretty clean and quiet. At first I was disappointed our room was only on the 8th floor, but I ended up enjoying the closer street view of all the busy night life on 7th Ave & Times Square. We were asked to show our room key when we came in late at night, which might annoy some people, but I was glad hotel personnel were concerned about the security of their guests. Negatives: slow street elevator to 1st floor lobby, then a separate elevator across the lobby to guest rooms; and it's a smaller, quiet hotel where you don't have the gift shops, restaurants, night life, etc. like some of the larger hotels.
