This hotel is quite the little gem. Centrally located to several resturants and only 2 streets to the ocean and the famous Ocean drive.The hotel staff were wonderful. My next time to South Beach,i would definetly stay at the Blue Moon again.

I was very disappointed in this hotel. The only thing good is the location, within walking distance of South Beach attractions, but not really right in the main area. There is a persistent problem with keys. Three people were in the lobby when I checked in, all with keys that did not work. Several times my keys did not work, and I had to go up and down three flights of stairs several times in a row. The only elevator is a tiny old one where you have to push back the gates and then the door manually. The room is tiny, barely much larger than the bed, and the only storage other than the closet was three very small drawers built into the entertainment unit, The bathroom is also small. I had problems with the tub stopper. The room was clean overall, except for the carpet and the chair cover. The AC control would not set properly, so the temperature was either too hot or too cold. There is a $* daily valet parking fee and a $* + tax per day "resort fee", where they basically charge you for the "complimentary" items. If you don't want to pay for the valet parking, the only alternative is metered street parking, if you can find it. This is absolutely not a 4-star hotel, maybe a 3-star, and that only because of location. Amenities are very limited, and there isn't even a restaurant. I did not know about any of the stuff listed as free, since the front desk staff was helpful. The rest of the staff was very nice.

We stayed 2 night at the Blue Moon hotel in January. The location was great-- you could walk anywhere in South Beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a little small, but comfortable and clean. It seemed reasonable for the price. The Wifi didn't work in our room, but worked well in the lobby. The breakfasts were great. Overall, we enjoyed the stay.

Superb location - less than 5 minutes to the Art Deco Welcome Center. Major bus route the next block (Washington) away from the beach where you can catch the South Beach Local for 25 cents. Easy walking distance to both Espanola and Lincoln streets to the north and upscale shopping to the south (all less than 1 mile). Front desk staff friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast is not too shabby - fruit, cereals, bagels, rolls, waffles, juice and milk. Pool is tiny but all the art deco hotels were built this way. The room was spacious and clean - both the room and bathroom. They supply ear plugs on your nightstand and you will need them if you're a light sleeper. The windows are single pane and walls evidently thin because a conversation at normal volume next door or down in the courtyard might as well be taking place in your room. We would definitely stay here again if we return to South Beach.
