This hotel is definitely out of the ordinary. I would describe the decor as Asian/South Pacific. It is a bit on the worn side, but not that it interferes with a stay, at least not in our room. The lay-out of the hotel was very different and all open, meaning even the lounge areas are outside. We had a big, odd shaped room that had a sliding glass door out to a private patio where there was a reading lounge chair and "soaking tub". However, there was an extra charge of $30 to prepare it, so we didn't use it. Rooftop pool was very cool. There was a bar poolside too. Private cabanas to rent with TV's. It was in a great area where you could walk to a lot of shopping and restaurants. This whole area of Miami is kind of an Artsy area, think a very small Greenwich Village, NY. A unique flavor separate from Miami, South Beach etc. I recommend staying here if you want to be in a quieter area and like to walk. Overall, it was a fun stay for myself and my college aged daughter.

Coconut Grove is where you want to be while in Miami, and The Mayfair is in the heart of it all. The hotel is charming (I was told by a local that the Mayfair used to be the happening place before South Beach blew up - anyone who was anyone would stay here). The rooms are clean and comfortable - you can watch TV from your spacious open shower/tub. The balcony is relaxing, though you can hear some of the afternoon traffic, but I did not mind, you can't hear a thing from the bedrooms. The rooftop bar and pool are fabulous. Alexa, our server was attentive and extremely friendly. It's a chic pool/bar but welcoming and inviting. There was a nice mix between single people in their 20's and 30's and one or two families. The music they play is not too loud and makes you feel like you are in Miami. Valet is expensive, but worth the splurge. Otherwise, you can self-park accross the street. But part of staying at the Mayfair is feeling fabulous even though you are not paying that much. There are several excellent brunch places and bars within walking distance. You can be in South Beach or the airport in less than 10 minutes (driving). I highly recommend the Mayfair. This was my 5th visit to Miami, and I will try to try to stay at this hotel every time I return.

The Mayfair Hotel and Spa was such an amazing hotel to spend our vacation in Miami, Florida. The service and staff was outstanding and excellent. One of the great things is that you dont have to leave your room to get ice because it will be brought to you and we found that out through asking where the ice machine was. The setup of the room was breathtaking. There was a comfortable King size bed, huge flatscreen TV, a walkin closet, safe, refrigerator filled with various beverages, a welcome basket with snacks, a balcony with a stationed hammock sofa and spa tub, spacious bathroom with coffee maker, toliet with privacy wall, small flatscreen tv, and a relaxing shower. My boyfriend and I loved the art decor of the hotel and they have a garage with elevator that will take you right into the hotel. The area is great to sightsee, there is a 24-hour Starbucks right around the corner, great restaurants to choose from, and many shops to visit.

Awesome Hotel. Park across the street in CoCo Garage. valet is about 26.00, garage is about 12.00 beautiful hotel and staff were fast to deliver whatever you need. i have no complaints and plan to return next year.

We booked this hotel for a one night stay pre-cruise out of Miami. I wish we were able to stay longer! The hotel and the room were beautiful! We booked an executive suite. The room was huge, with two queen beds, a small foyer, sitting area, dining area, large bathroom, and small patio with Japanese soaking tub (didn't have time to use this feature). The room was very clean, and the hotel staff were excellent. This hotel is located right across the street from CocoWalk, and an easy walk to restaurants and shops. I would definitely stat here again.
