    Had 2 good previous expriences but my 3rd time was not a charm. After a day out wanted to relax watch tv but movie wasn't working. Call front desk they sent someone but next day still wasn't working so they changed our room. Next room the tv and jacuzzi wasn't working. So we were put into a 3rd room which was a really nice upgrade from the previous 2 room. But we lost a whole day in the process and on top of that my wife jewelry was stolen. Spoke to managers and nothing was found or offered for lost of day or missing jewelry. Wife spoke to a woman at front desk asking if there was any update on missing jewelry answer back with nasty attitude telling my that it was 5 days ago and to get over it even tho it only happen a day ago. Extremely disappointed.

    We had a wonderful time at this hotel. It was the best. Service, restaurant, rooms, pool and spa were by far one of the best we have stayed at. ALL of the staff treated us like we were the only people there. I would recommend the Mayfair to everyone that is interested in being at Coconut Grove. When you are at the Mayfair you are in the center of the Grove. Walking distance to everything.

    I have never written a review for a hotel, but I felt compelled to do so after staying at Mayfair. I was looking forward to a good experience there, based on others' reviews, but my expectations were not met. The hotel is overall in a good location, and we felt safe walking around at night. Parking is very expensive ($26 per night), so we opted to park at a garage a few blocks away for $5 per night. The hotel is in a noisy area, with lots of construction noises, and music/shouting from the bars nearby is loud in the hotel room. The hot tub was more like a barrel that looked moldy and cost $30 in addition to the room charge to use (the staff fills it for you when you request it and pay the fee). The fan on the terrace was inoperable, as was the TV in the bathroom and the telephone. The room was dirty. There was a string of dental floss stuck to the wall in the shower that did not move for several days until housekeeping finally cleaned it off. After housekeeping "serviced" the room, they did not leave any bath towels one day. The night after that, they left one washcloth (we had 2 people staying in the room). We had to walk down to the front desk to ask for more towels since our phone did not work. On another night, we came back to find a used red toothbrush on the sink that belonged to neither of us. The room smelled musty. Housekeeping stopped leaving body wash after the first night. The pool is small and had missing tiles. The drinks at the bar are expensive ($17 or so), and would recommend going to an upscale bar for a nicer atmosphere if going to spend that kind of money. The music played at the pool was extremely annoying. The gym equipment was broken (elliptical did not work and only one TV was available). Using the hotel computer costs you money for every 15 minutes of use. No free breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel.
