The Avalon was a great location and a good deal for the money. The Hotel was clean and the Staff was friendly. The location was great because everything was in walking distance. If you valet park your car it is like $* a day. You can save money by parking it in the garage a block away around the corner. This Hotel does not have a pool but it is across the street from the beach. Remeber it is south beach and it is noisy and everything stays open late but this would be one of the quiet Hotels on ocean drive.

I have stayed here twice and it is pretty close to everything. Right across the street you have the beach, then just blocks away you have the infamous Wet Willies. Everything is pretty much walking distance, from shopping to dining. There is also a T.G.I. F. Friday's and a GAP nearby. Great location, great hotel. My only gripe is I called down to the front desk from my room and NO ONE answered the phone. A couple of times I visited the front desk there was no one there, had to yell back to the back room for someone to come out. Maybe a bell or a buzzer would be helpful. Other than that I would stay here again. The continental breakfast provided was a plus.

The hotel is small but cozy. There were no suprizes, the room looked exactly like the picture. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and a must for me a good hot shower. The hotel was located across the street from the beach and steps away from all the clubs and shops. Lincoln road was about a 5 minute bus ride away (a .25 bus ride on the South Beach Local). The hotel restaurant was fantastic and the service excellent. My friend and I went for my birthday, we had a great time and both agreed that we would stay again.

My room with the old skool "air conditioning" unit hanging from the window wasnt available so the staff upgraded me & I was pleased with the change, but to think that I got lucky and booking here was a risk of getting an awful room. The advantages were that the hotel sat across the street from the beach & on the strip. A bit risky!
