The hotel has four nightclubs in the bottom of the building and you can hear them through the walls. You could hear the music from our room until 1am !!!! Like the other reviews, the rooms are small and not worth the price. I have always stayed at Marriotts but this is the worst one i have ever stayed at.

The hotel was amazing. It was clean, everyone was very nice and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, updated and very well kept. It had the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in while in a hotel. The sheets and blankets were actually soft. I don't have one complaint about the hotel itself. Word to the wise though, the piano bar downstairs is insanely expensive. There are great bars in Boston so don't waste your money there. In regards to the stay I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

  • Good if you are not a picky, whiny complainer!

We chose this hotel because we were attending a concert across the street at the Wang Theater. It can't get more convenient than that! The hotel is very crazy looking! It was fun wandering around in the middle of the night and exploring the place. It has a kind of "Shining" quality about it. Valet parking is $* a day! I can see how that would annoy most people, but it's not really that big of a deal. Upon check-in I requested either a room on the corner or the 15th floor as suggested by other reviewers. The front desk clerk was friendly and happily offered me a larger room on the 11th floor. The room was HUGE! We heard some ambulances through the night...but it didn't bother us as we are used to hearing this type of thing where we live. We also did not hear the night club from our floor. The elevators were not slow as I read in other reviews... Our view from the window was an alley type with a view of the W. We saw a fat naked guy sitting in front of his window...that was good for a laugh. The TV was a piece of crap...the picture quality is poor. The cd/radio alarm clock did not play CDs...but that probably doesn't matter to most people. The fridge in our room was leaking water...but these things did not dampen our mood on the whole hotel experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The breakfast is $*...good food...but certainly not worth $*... We did not check out the piano bar or Caprice. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The area is very pedestrian friendly! Great place for laid-back, care-free people like my boyfriend and I.

after reading the previous reviews, had it not been for the convenience of location, and no other hotels available, I would not have stayed at this hotel. However, I can only say, this hotel is definitely worth consideation for any stay in the downtown boston area. It is not fancy, and it is a bit noisy, with a nightclub adjacent, but it is very clean, clearly recently renovated, the beds are very comfortable, as would be expected in the Marriot chain. Most of all, the service was excellent, very pleasant desk clerks, who went above and beyond to make clients as comfortable as possible. I needed wrapping paper and ribbon for a gift I did not have the chance to wrap, they took care of this detail for me. :)
