Read the text carefully, It says Sweet Sleeper, not Suite Sleeper. Many people are fooled into thinking this is a Suite with a sleeper sofa, it is not. The Sweet Sleeper is the type of mattress. The rooms are very small, and have little space to move around between the beds. The staff isn't exactly the friendliest. When we arrived, in our taxi, no one helped us with our luggage, which we needed help with. There was no ramp so pulling our roller bags up the stairs was a chore. Be careful when checking your luggage, apparently those guys aren't affiliated with the hotel, so you need to make sure you have the correct vouchers prior to checking it in. Otherwise you will have to pay them. This is the only hotel I have been to in the world where you have to pay them to hold your luggage if they aren't ready for you to check-in.
When we left, once again no one helped us with our luggage, and we had to hail our own cab, (which isn't easy to do at 5 in the morning), since the bellmen were too busy to come outside

where to begin? the bulb in the desk light was falling out. Sink faucet in bad shape. Hair dryer worked, didn't work, worked, didn't work? Old style tv. Library bar staff rude. Event staff poor. Only bright spot, one good bartender at Hudson Bar. Hallway looked liked someone played bumper carts. In my opinion, if you have another option...stay there.

I agree with debra v. This hotel is in absolutely awful condition. We had to be moved over 4 times in 1 day. First the AC didn't work, then the bathroom lights, then hair all over the bathroom, then snot in a sink. The staff was trying hard to be accommodating and was genuinely embarrassed, but it didn't make up for the fact that this was a hotel in desperate need of a major renovation. For the price you pay its just a waste. We checked out after 1 night of a 3 night stay and moved to the awesome W Union Square.

I had the misfortune of staying at the Sheraton Manhattan at Times Square while on a September 2007 business trip to NYC.

The place quite simply is an overpriced dump. Although they claim the property has undergone a recent multi-million dollar renovation not all rooms have been completed. Dirty linens, moldy bathroom, chipped paint, peeling wallpaper and a barely functional television is what greeted me after a long flight. Think look-and-feel of a discount side of the highway motel which hasn't been refurbished for 20+ years - which is fine if that is what you expect and are paying for...

On the upside if you like to listen in on your neighbors the walls are as paper thin as they are dirty...

And trust me - unless you plan on taking on a second job trying to get the staff to do their jobs at a bare minimum save yourself the aggravation and headache. My laundry was lost for days. But for one individual the entire staff was down right rude, ineffective and inattentive. I was hung-up on more than once for simply inquring as to where my clothing was and when I could expect to receive it back!

As part of the recompense for a horrible stay they offered a few minimal comps - one of which ended up being included as a charge on the final bill. Almost a week after check out I am still awaiting a revised bill and statement... Did I mention they have promised to send it along to me twice so far? Can it really be that difficult? Ughhh...

I have contacted my corporate travel services department in an effort to insure that in future none of my colleagues
