I HAVE BEEN A FAITHFULL GUEST AT THE SHERATON AND NOW I WENT TO BOOK ANOTHER TRIP AND SAW THAT THIS HOTEL IS NOW NON-SMOKING. I AM A SMOKER AND FEEL THAT THIS IS GOING TOO FAR NOW WITH MAKING THIS HOTEL 100% NON-SMOKING. WHAT ARE WE SMOKERS? ALIENS? SO NEEDLESS TO SAY, YOU HAVE LOST ME AS A GUEST - I HAVE STAYED AT THE SERATON MANHATTAN THE PAST 3 VISITS AND THOUGHT I FOUND A HOTEL FOR LIFE WHEN I COME TO NEW YORK - BUT THAT HAS NOW CHANGED.

This hotel was very nice, with a great location. We only spent Saturday night in NY and it was perfect for us. We were able to walk in Time Square all day long - the heart of Time Square is just a few blocks away.
The staff and service were great - no complaints on my part, we couldn't get a late check-out or early check-in, but they were very helpful in holding our bags. The rooms were tiny, but from what I hear thats expected of NY; it has two double beds and a very narrow shower - it was fine for our group, especially for just the night, but if we had more luggage or spent more time there, we'd probably run out of space.
We paid $200 (including taxes) for a Saturday night, great rate I think - even for January. For that money and for the location its in, it couldn't be beat.
Also - FYI for those of you considering the Sheraton Manhattan vs. the Sheraton NY, they're across the street from each other, so if location is your only consideration, go with the one with the better price! -

12/17/2007This was our first trip to ny, we were 'shell shocked'! the hotel location made our trip. we were able to walk around the block every night to time square ...
This was our first trip to NY, we were 'shell shocked'! The hotel location made our trip. We were able to walk around the block every night to Time Square and we stay out till midnight. We felt safe walking back to our hotel. When we arrived we told the desk clerk that this was our 1st visit to NY and where could we get information for tours, he refer us to the information desk. We were able to get 4 days of travel on the Red Bus for almost nothing! We had a ball. Yes, the rooms were smalls but who stays in your room for 24 hrs? (there were 4 of us) We slept, showered then we were out the door every morning. With 4 womens we always had enough clean towels. The bathroom was always clean went we got back to our room. We love this hotel, wish we could get the same rates we got in 2005!! Trying to save money to go back to NY. This is the hotel we're checking in to!! Sheratons you're the best!!
