the peabody is directly across the road from the orange county convention center in a relatively busy part of international drive. this hotel is huge! despite the long line, we were quickly checked in. we reserved a room with a king size bed, however there were only 2 queen rooms available. they compensated for this by giving us a room with a pool view. from the 23rd floor, there was a spectacular view of the pool and orlando as far as the eye could see. the beds were extremely comfortable and the total blackout curtains allowed for some nice sleeping in. there were all hd channels on the hdtv but the hotel's network for on demand movies didn't work. there were some nice touches here and there like a motion activated floor light (if you needed to go to the bathroom at night). the downsides to this hotel: 1. the parking garage: it's 7 levels, however the majority of it is reserved for valet, and its actually a bit of a walking distance from the hotel which is not usually a problem except after a long day on your feet at the parks. 2. the resort/parking fees... for a 3 night stay this added an extra $80 to my bill. why isn't the resort fee included in the bill? and for a hotel with these rates, parking at a daily rate of $15 (or $25 for valet) seems a bit ridiculous. and seeing the crazy haphazard way in which the valets were driving the cars around the garage (on 2 occasions they almost hit my car) made me all too happy to park it myself. overall the experience was good with some flaws

The Peabody is a very nice hotel - modern, stylish, and comfortable. It is ideally set up for large conventions with lots of spacious hallways and common areas. It is not as great for travelers visiting Disney or Universal. Although the description states there are shuttles to the parks, do not mistake this as meaning the excellent free shuttles like the Disney properties provide. These are not free, and they are no more economical than taking a taxi every day. Travel to and from the parks runs about $75/day by taxi. The staff at the Peabody is adequate but not outstanding. We had a bathroom fan that ran constantly and our first 2 requests to have the situation looked at weren't answered. Finally on our third night, after our third request, a maintenance person determined the fan was broken and we were moved to another room. Not the worst thing in the world, but kind of annoying. This hotel is fine but I would choose somewhere else next time.

My stay at The Peabody was amazing. Great location, great price. Overall very impressed with the stay the one thing which I was well aware of before booking was $16 parking fee per day and $10 hotel fee. (for wifi and use of gym)
