The hotel was clean and everyone on staff was friendly, courteous & helpful. If the person did not have the answer, she/he knew where to go to get what was needed. the grounds were beautiful. Htere were many building in this resort and I felt truly in a resort instead of just a hotel with one building and a pool. There were maps along the way of the paths adjoining the buildings so you could stay on track of where you were going. Even the shuttle drivers were helpfulwhen going to attactions or the airport.

-The bathroom floor tile grout was black from lack of being scrubbed or bleached. The grout in corners with less traffic showed that it used to be white. -The laminate floors in the room hadn’t been mopped or washed. If we accidentally went barefoot the dirty floors stained our feet or socks so badly we had to discard socks that could not be washed out. -The bathroom door looked like a hole had been punched through it so a jagged piece of plywood was placed over the hole, screwed on, and painted over. The ends of the screws were sticking out of the other side of the bathroom door. -Anything chrome or metal in the room was severely corroded/oxidized/rusted/chipping away. The bed frame was rusted and dirty also. -The ceramic tub was so old that it had no gloss coating left to it. It was chipped, pitted and grey from the wear. -The plastic tub (we changed rooms) had several holes in the tub basin. The holes were sealed with caulk but this did not permanently seal the hole. Water had filled the area under the tub so much that when you walk in the tub it squished and water pooled up out of the holes. Imagine the mold and bacteria coming up out of that. The amount of water below the basin also made the floor very unstable to stand on when bathing. -The walls in the room were water stained and the ceiling bubbled as if water was building up in it. There were obvious indications that drywall had been cut open to make repairs in the walls but the paint didn’t match the original paint so the room was several shades of yellow in addition to the water stains. -There were carpet beetle larvae carcasses stuck to the walls and floors. Live carpet beetles were on the drapes. -There was garbage and debris under the beds and between the mattresses and box springs. -The child bunk beds were full of food wrappers, food, crumbs, dust, carpet beetles and other debris. The crevices of the bunk beds and ladders had never been vacuumed or dusted and were thick with debris. -The night lights over the bunk beds were rusted, crooked and could easily fall off the wall onto a child. -The walls surrounding the bunk beds were covered in mucus that some child(ren) wiped there. -The walls in the bathroom had large red stains on them which I can only assume were blood or vomit. -The bathroom walls had black mold growing in small patches. -The shower curtains were covered in pink mildew and were faded from being so old and dirty. -Housekeeping changed our sheets and placed dirty sheets on the bed. -The air conditioning unit hardly worked and ran all night; on for 5 minutes, off for 30 seconds. We hardly slept because the motor went on and off all night. -The stairwell outside the room had loose cement steps. The steps actually wobbled as you stepped on them. -Maintenance requests went ignored and we spent 5 nights listening to the smoke detector battery beeping in the next room. -The very worst part of the experience we discovered at 4am on the day of our departure – roaches. We hadn’t seen them all week but that morning when we turned the lights on in the child bunk bed room we had quite a surprise on the floor. Now I understand why all the room lights and Air Conditioning units are left on when the room is empty – so the noise, high air flow and lights keeps the roaches from coming out. I wondered why a hotel that obviously could not afford renovations or extermination would waste so much money on energy but this explains why. -We didn’t realize it at the time but the spots we found on our bodies are from bed bugs. My son is also covered in these bites and has developed a fever which I can assume is from the conditions of the room.
