    Service from employees was not always A+ but it is what it is. I stayed in one of the older facilities the PALMS and as far as units I actually prefer them. I have never been dissappointed out of the 21 years returning to Vistana/Starwood resorts. I have never seen bugs in all the years going. Even if I did, hello it is FLORIDA bugs and lizards are the state pets. I have seen mold occasionally. This is a state that stays 85% humidity most all year . Maid service also is by timeshare standards not everyday hotel standards. I can't want till next year to go back.

    Overall ok. Like many others requested newer section but got stuck in the older lakes section. Reservations never made it clear it was just a request we made. Soapbox on. Sunday night after visiting the pool our room key failed to open the door. 7 people including 2 toddlers were stranded out in the chilly night air in nothing but swimsuits and towels for 55 min. Got no response after two calls to front desk hospitality, and another two to security. Finally walked to the front gate and flagged down a security vehicle who then opened for us immediately. Staff tried reaching X the night manager-on-duty via cell-phone but he was unavailable. Whomever dropped the ball that night lost both Vistana and SVO any future return visit and possible ownership from us. Soapbox off.

    Outdoor pools and spas were all heated and large. Upset kids activities and even popcorn was too much $$ - they tease the kids then corner the parents to fork over the cash. West workout room was decent, steam & sauna closed for remodel. Housekeeping services were poor. They brought new towels on day #3 but did nothing approaching a "light cleaning"; we're used to garbage service, taking away old towels, maybe a single bed turndown, etc. They were responsive though when called for more toilet tissue, hairdryer, dish soap, and washcloths though. We had some ants in living room and on a table but vacuming helped that. Coffeepot leaked, dishwasher didn't clean, rear door key reader bad, some mold in shower, no room safe in our unit. Great location and good value for $300ish (RCI) week. Not deserving of the Sheraton name or RCI Silver Crown status though.

    First they placed us in the Lakes sections in a regular 2-bebroom,,,even thought I had call and request a 2-bedroom lockout which has more room. We were a family of 8,,,and needed the space. The lakes section is very old and early hotel style furniture....nothing like the pictures you'll find on the web site.
    Finally after 2 trips to the office and couple of hours,,,they moved us to the Cascades section in a 2-bedroom lockout. Big difference,,,,everything is new and just like the pictures.
    Great pools and close to the Disney parks. We traveled to Cocoa Beach (1 hour) and also Clearwater(2 hours) for the day, so it's a nice central location.

    We all enjoyed our trip! We had plenty of space and all the comforts of home. We had to wait in a long line to check in (about 20 mins) Once we got to our room it was very nice and clean. I couldn't ask for better. I called the help desk because I lost my key. They brought me a replacement very quickly. (withen 10 mins.)The service in the flamingo grill left a lot to be desired. We went at 3 in the afternoon. It took 15 min to be seated. We were the only customers in the whole place. We had to ask if they were open. They said oh yes and showed us to our seats, handed us menus, then never came back. We finally got up and walked out after 20 mins......If it takes that long to place an order, we would have starved before we actually got something to eat. I would definately stay here again, but I'll go out of the resort to eat.

    The front desk clerk I spoke to on 9-25-07 at 4:56pm was EXTREMELY rude and abrasive. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who travels to the Orlando area. He hung up on me TWICE after I requested his General Manager's contact information. Before hanging up the second time, he stated ""we don't have a general manager, thank you"". This is extremely unprofessional and not how you run a hospitality business!!
