Like the other writers noted DO NOT GO BY THE PICTS....rooms are dirty, floors has vomit in the hallway, room floors stained, toilet dirty, dresser warped and bubbled up, pool cold, stinkin, old, NOT accomodating at ALL....RIP OFF, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY,,,,its a wonder the place is not shut down yet?....

We stayed here and for the most part it was ok.. althought we had problems with the bar tender.. he was soooo full of himself and rude!!!!!! he made it uncomfortable to go down to the pool area and lay out to the point where we avoided eating at the resturant because of him!!!!!!! i wouldnt really recomend staying here.. the pics are better online than in person.. the hotel does not have chairs like most other hotels.. and the secutiy is lacking a little.. the rooms were cute but the paint in hallways was pealing and looking a little nasty.. have stayed at nicest hotels in south beach for sure.. but it was a last minute trip we planned two days before we left so it was the only option.. there was also a lot of little kids running around with no parents watching them.. when i go to south beach its not usually a family place..

We picked this place because it was closer to the nightlife than the last hotel we stayed at in South Beach. Previously we stayed at the Holiday Inn, which is cheaper than this hotel and much nicer. This place has a very nice lobby but its deceiving. When we got to our room we found gross 20 yr old carpet that had not been vacuumed recently. The bed linens were yellowed and old, and there was only one light in the room that worked; the other ones were broken. The walls were uneven, the bathroom had mold and rust on the walls, but had been cleaned recently.
When we checked in the front desk told us we would be charged an additional $3 per day for the in room safe. That was not working when we got to our room, we asked them to fix it twice, they told us it would be removed from our bill, when we checked out it was there. There is no ice machine in the hotel, we had to call the front desk and ask for some and we were then charged for asking for it. The first night we were there our door lock broke and someone had to manually let us into our room, they promised to fix the door by the next morning, they didn't.
If the pool had been as horrible as our room we would have switched hotels. The pool is decent sized and there are nice chairs to lay on. I have heard the back part of the hotel has been updated, but I never saw what it looked like. In the future I would either go cheap and stay at the holiday inn or spend more for a nicer place. -

I head to Miami every few months and I found the Shelborne about a year ago. The staff is great and always treat me like a VIP. They are friendly and helpful. The place is clean and I enjoy the food , the lounge and the club! Every time is better than the last and they seem to be bringing in more new improvements.
