The staff was very pleasant. I was surprised that the bathroom only had one sink, but maybe if I had chosen a room with two queen beds (instead of one king bed), the bathroom would have been a little bit bigger. The only downside was the valet parking was a bit expensive and the WiFi didn't work. It was a bit noisy from the outside traffic, but that is to be expected in DC.

I checked in at 3 PM and told my room wasn't ready and they won't know when. The extra charge to use the fittness center was excessive and "piggish" as this was supposed to be a first class hotel. The quality of the contintal breakfast was poor and the amount of food was not enough for the crowd.

Wow! The Capital Hilton is, in my opinion, THE place to stay for many reasons. It is two blocks from the White House; slightly over a long block to two Metra stations (subway) which is a fantastic system; and in walking distance to great eating. The Hilton itself was definitely 5 Star. We had a very large room, two queen beds, huge flat screen TV, couch, desk, roomy bathroom - all appointments were top notch. The beds were the most comfortable we've ever slept on. Oh, and the air conditioning is quiet and works perfectly. We felt right at home from the moment we walked into the room. All I can say is staying here made our 5 days in Washington D.C. a total pleasure.
