I first stayed at this location 7 years ago and loved it. Since then things have gone terribly wrong. The property itself has seen better days. It is in bad need of some love. Paint pealing as well as stained/old/well worn carpets. All of this can be overlooked and easily repaired. The more pressing problem is the complete lack of customer service over night. The day time staff was friendly and attentive. The customer service at night is nonexistent. After calling the front desk to request a cab, I made my way down to the lobby after a 10 minute wait. At this time I asked the front desk clerk if he had found a cab and what my expected wait would be. He looked at me without a reply. Upon my asking again he begrudgingly picked up the phone and spoke to someone. After getting off the phone he went back to reading a magazine with no response given to me. After asking again he held up a finger and answered another call. After 5 minutes of what seemed to be a personal conversation he got off the phone and told me that a cab "might get here in the next hour and that I might have better luck walking". At this point I walked to the hotel next door and had them call a cab which arrived in less than 5 minutes. After my return to the hotel later in the evening I again had to call the front desk to inquire about a hotel policy. After calling for 10 minutes with no answer I went down to the lobby to find the desk clerk at the bar eating. No one else was in the hotel or bar. After standing at the front desk within eyesight of the clerk, he and I being the only persons there, I had to walk over to the bar to get an attitude for interrupting his meal. I will not stay at this hotel again.

I stayed here for one night on business. The staff was extremely helpful and the room was very modern and clean but VERY small. The comfortable, king-sized bed took up most of the space and the bathroom was similar to that described in previous reviews. Shower only (no tub), toilet facing the sink and close enough that you could wash your hands while sitting on the toilet. Otherwise a nice place to stay and convenient to Fox theatre, many restaurants and the famous Churchill Grounds jazz club is across the street.

The staff were polite, the room was clean and decent, and basic amenities such as cable television and wireless access were included. The reason I selected this hotel was its proximity to the Fox Theater, so I would definitely recommend it for an overnight stay while attending a show there (that was my purpose). However, the bathroom is so cramped that you can almost wash your hands at the sink while sitting on the toilet. This is not much of an issue for a 1-night stay.
